I know this has been said before but, when she says that she wants to hold responsible those who were involved with Finnys' death, I wonder what she thinks of Shawna 'Gun It' Cox?
I know he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory but, does the widder and the poots just gloss over this fact?
I dunno' -- I guess I can't figger out poot logic and reasoning

If she really wanted to hold responsible those who were involved with her husband's death, she'd start with him. You don't pull a gun (or try to pull a gun) on law enforcement and get away with it. She is unable to face the harsh reality that his actions led directly to his death. It's much easier to blame everyone else (except Shawna, of course) than to accept that her husband was so in love with his own pretend-mythology, he chose to follow it to the bitter end.

So does "everything they have" include their private autopsy? The one they hyped to the nines but then never released, presumably because it agreed with the FBI autopsy.

In any case, judging from newspaper clippings at the time, folks in Oregon were mostly not sympathetic to the Sovtards invading the wildlife preserve, so the jury may not be helpful to the Widow Finicum.

Jeanette gives a video update - doesn't pronounce Astarita's name correctly and gets many facts wrong. Is a bit strange to hear a Bundy fan supporting the prosecution though.

Philpoot status in Oregon has been changed from inactive to active according to Oregon state bar website so I guess Ludwig will withdraw (if she hasn't already).

If she ever manages to get a jury they will likely view the tape the way every person I know of has seen it. I know quite a few people who were not following the Malheur takeover story, didn't know who LaVoy was, and saw the video of the shooting. To the person they all believed he was reaching for a weapon. Every. Last. Person.

I strongly suspect that they're just trying to generate sufficient obvious nonsense that the defendants will just pay them off.

I hope that doesn't happen.

Me, too. All that would do is "confirm" for them and their hodge podge of followers that LaVoy was "murdered".

Poots lie and twist the truth? :swoon:

I vaguely recall some chatter during the occupation why the government didn't shut off the power and stuff, and that the remote location and the need of access to the power poles would leave workers somewhat of a sitting duck with all those armed men out there. But, after two years, my memory isn't so good.
We had a long discussion about this at the time. The power could have been cut but to do it safely might have exposed utility workers to sniper fire from the fire tower. It could have been cut back at the utility substation but other customers besides the wildlife preserve would have been affected. Ultimately I think it was a strategic decision not to cut the power and possibly cause more damage to the facility than the criminals had already done. Also, the FBI was trying to avoid an armed confrontation if possible.

Defendants should all file motions for summary judgment. The videotapes of the incident demonstrate indisputably that Finicum reached for his gun and the Oregon state troopers shot in self defense when he refused to follow their orders.

I read the first 15 pages of the amended complaint. It's basically a political manifesto that just rants about all sorts of random things, none of which have any bearing on the death of Finicum. If Finicum were wrongly killed and they were trying to recover damages for that, you'd think they'd sue the Oregon State Police, who actually shot him, rather than all these people who didn't. Suing the Center for Biological Diversity as an active and knowing co-conspirator? Really?

Looks like Mumblepoot is doing another shitty lawyering/PR job to try and gin up more poot clients to stave off bankruptcy and try and pay for his divorce.

We must all remember, given that it is told to us every time a black person is shot, that we can't substitute our post-incident judgment for that fraction of a second during which law enforcement must act -- and if it is good enough for all those persons killed who had no gun and who had done nothing wrong and who actually posed no threat to law enforcement or others, IMHO it is good enough for that POS Finicum.

The officers involved should counter sue Bob's estate* for the mental trauma caused by Bob's suicide by cop.

*and "Gun it" Shawna who should have been charged under Oregon law for her part in Bob's flee arrest.

Shame there's no felony murder charge that could have been brought against all those in the truck. That would have the Poots squealing tyranny.

I suspect they are trying to find the magical case where they can finally lay out their whole worldview in a courtroom. Judges keep stopping them from brining in irrelevent material, and I suspect they really believe that if they can finally get a case where the judge has to let them speak the whole system will crumble around them.
