2018 Kansas Governor - (D) Win

Kansas City Star
Another former GOP governor of Kansas just endorsed Dem Laura Kelly over Kris Kobach

A second former Republican governor of Kansas is spurning Kris Kobach’s run for the office in favor of Democrat Laura Kelly’s candidacy.

Former Kansas Gov. Mike Hayden, who served from 1987 to 1991, announced on Thursday that he is endorsing Kelly’s run for governor. He becomes the latest major GOP official along with former Gov. Bill Graves and former U.S. Sen. Nancy Kassebaum to support the state senator from Topeka.

Every living ex-governor of Kansas — except for Republican Sam Brownback — now supports Kelly over Kobach.

“After eight years of crisis, we cannot elect someone who wants to repeat the disasters of the past,” Hayden said in a statement. “Kris Kobach has promised to do just that — risking the future of our great state.”

dKos Elections: KS-Gov: Holy shnikeys!!! MSNBC is calling this race for Democrat Laura Kelly, who is currently beating Republican Kris Kobach, the leading GOP vote-suppression crusader in the country, by a 52-40 margin. This is AMAZING.

I am shocked and pleased. I had feared that even as much as he was hated in KS in general, that the senile brigade that has been keeping him in power would continue to do so. Either they stayed home because they thought he'd win easily, or they've al finally died. I am so happy for KS. Maybe the destruction of the state that the GOP has been orchestrating will finally come to an end. He and his predecessor/mentor did a lot of damage.

Kobach was just on Fox and Friends (yeah I can't help myself watching to see what they're saying). He was weighing in on the border crises and the caravans 'cause he's such an expert and all, even criticized the recent ruling from the "Obama judge". Then Doocy asked him about possibly taking over DHS if Neilson is outed.
