And just like that. Walker pulls thousands of votes out of thin air at the last minute.

For reference.

https://ballotpedia.org/Recount_laws_in_Wisconsin
" Upon receiving a petition requesting a recount, election officials must provide the petitioner with an estimate of the cost involved in conducting the recount. If a candidate requesting a recount meets either of the following criteria, he or she will not be required to pay a fee:[3]

the candidate lost by fewer than 10 votes if 4,000 votes or fewer were cast
the candidate lost by no more than 0.25 percent if more than 4,000 votes were cast

Apparently there are still 45000 absentee and early ballots to be counted in Milwaukee.

Presumably that doesn't include the 30,000 plus absentees from Milwaukee that twitter is all a tweet about.

Lacrosse shows only 75% counted and it is strongly going for Evers. If the Milwaukee ballots aren't included yet Walker is done.

The Milwaukee votes are included now. Tony Evers leads by 1.1 percentage points, or 30,152 votes, over Scott Walker with 99 percent of precincts reporting.
Tony Evers Democrat 1,305,942 49.6%
Scott Walker* Republican 1,275,083 48.4

Stick a fork in Walker. He is done.

I looked at the outstanding counties and they don't have enough votes for Walker. If anything they will add to Evers lead.

This is almost on par with Kobach getting defeated. To quote a certain person: I LOVE IT!

But Walker is promising a hanging chads style recount. Of course he is.

My very quick research indicates that if he loses by more than 1%, he can't file for a recount.
only a candidate considered an “aggrieved party” may file a petition for a recount. An “aggrieved party” means any of the following: 1) for an election at which 4,000 or fewer votes are cast for the office that the candidate seeks, a candidate who trails the leading candidate by no more than 40 votes, or 2) for an election at which more than 4,000 votes are cast for the office that the candidate seeks, a candidate who trails the leading candidate by no more than 1 percent of the total votes cast for that office. Act 120 also requires that the candidate include a statement in the recount petition that he or she is in fact an aggrieved party.

Also, if he loses by more than .25 percent, he has to pay for it. https://elections.wi.gov/elections-voting/recount

A nice start. This will slow the nutjobbery, but voters need to know that change needs to happen in the legislature too.

Seeing Kobach and Walker lose is life affirming.

I went to bed when Walker was slightly ahead and Brown County looked to have a number of votes likely to go his way, but as talk of thousands uncounted in Milwaukee County arose. This was pleasant wake up news.

The Unholy Trinity from my childhood state of Walker, Ryan and Priebus is at last history.
