I voted about a week and a half ago. Polls were very light, and there was some minor interference...prolly because I was voting at my kitchen table and the cat kept trying to grab my pen. Good voter supression kitteh.

I voted on Friday, Oct 5 at our city hall. I was surprised to see about a dozen people there to vote. The gal at the counter said that they had been fairly busy that day. Hopefully they were all voting for Democrats.

I vote by mail. Will do soon - have to check out some of the more local stuff first like city council etc. A poot (for real) is the R candidate for US Rep in my District. He will not win.

Re: I Voted 2018! Voter Check In, Election Watch and Poll Conditions
I mailed our ballots the day after we received them, and checked the county registration site showing they were both counted.
Our ballot was 12 pages long this time, with 13 initiatives, plus judges. Since you have to be very careful with your signature on the envelope, and I have arthritis, I keep a photocopy of my current voter registration form on file so I can look at it and practice it a few times before signing the ep. (I occasionally get squiggly.)
If you vote by mail and notice a deterioration or change in your sig, be sure to update it.

Going to poll worker training today. Will mail my ballot today too.
Move On is sending a cool Blue Wave sticker since I donated to (Hunter’s opponent I think). Their track record tells me it will arrive shortly after the midterms.

I voted on Friday - the 2nd day of early voting. We had a 20 minute wait, which is about what I remember from 2 years ago, when I voted on a Saturday.
Several news sources are reporting that early voting numbers in Tennessee have been extremely high for a midterm election. I hope this bodes well for the Democratic candidates for governor and senator.

Always good to follow up and make sure your mail-in ballot was received and counted.

I live in Pennsylvania and, other than voting earlier by mail by absentee ballot (giving the reason why, if I remember correctly), I cannot vote before election day. I have that one chance to vote, and it ticks me off. I envy those of you who can vote early.

So get an absentee ballot and state that you plan on being out of town on that day. I figure driving to the next suburb is being out of town. And if your plans change, well, that's life.AndyinPA wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:35 pm I live in Pennsylvania and, other than voting earlier by mail by absentee ballot (giving the reason why, if I remember correctly), I cannot vote before election day. I don't think PA is too bad about "voter fraud," but I always worry that my absentee ballot might not to counted, so I prefer to do it in person.MN-Skeptic wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:38 pmSo get an absentee ballot and state that you plan on being out of town on that day. I voted yesterday. In my heavily red district I didn't vote for a single R, even the uncontested ones. I sure wouldn't mind seeing Scholten knock King the Racist off his throne,

Re: I Voted 2018! Voter Check In, Election Watch and Poll Conditions
I have voted by mail for years/decades. Usually that has been for MY convenience. Now I live in San Diego County, in the country. I get notifications that "There will NOT be a polling place for your precinct this election due to the low number of registered voters and/or the district boundary lines that divide your area." <Snip>AndyinPA wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:35 pm I live in Pennsylvania and, other than voting earlier by mail by absentee ballot (giving the reason why, if I remember correctly), I cannot vote before election day. They mail me a ballot. I fill it out at my leisure. I return it in the Postage Paid envelope. I often drop off my completed ballot at a polling place on election day. This year we put them in the mail.

I don't know if I would want to vote absentee unless I really needed to. There is the whole process of going to vote has some allure to me. Call me weird.AndyinPA wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:40 pmI don't think PA is too bad about "voter fraud," but I always worry that my absentee ballot might not to counted, so I prefer to do it in person.MN-Skeptic wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:38 pmSo get an absentee ballot and state that you plan on being out of town on that day. I could change my ways since I once partially had the same feeling of voting on election day, but found that early voting is fine. Since I have a longer commute, it works a bit better. If I still lived up north where a line consisted of 4 people (and the old mechanical voting machines), I probably would stay with voting on election day.
That said, I am in Illinois so early voting makes it much easier to vote early, and often.

I actually like the physical act of voting in person, too, and definitely draw satisfaction from it. But that said, I'd love to have a system like Oregon where everyone mails in their vote.
