Disappointing news from Nevada.Former Rep. Dina Titus plans to announce on Thursday she is running for the 1st Congressional District covering much of urban Las Vegas, according to a Democratic Party insider.Titus, a Democrat, would face state Sen. Ruben Kihuen in a highly competitive primary, pitting the veteran lawmaker against a rising Hispanic politician seeking to become Nevada's first Hispanic congressman.[/break1]lvrj.com/news/titus-to-announce-run-for-1st-district-seat-132958858.html?ref=858]http://www.lvrj.com/news/titus-to-annou ... ml?ref=858I was hoping Titus would have a rematch with Congressman Joe Heck in the purple 3rd district. A win over Heck would very likely result in a state delegation composed of 3 Democrats and 1 Republican (Republican Mark Amodei in the very red 2nd). It now appears that Nevada's congressional delegation will be evenly split in 2013.Another missed opportunity.

Nevada state Senator Ruben Kihuen has withdrawn from the race for the Democratic nomination. Former Congresswoman Dina Titus will be a heavy favorite to return to Congress from a very blue district.[/break1]lvrj.com/news/state-sen-kihuen-drops-out-of-race-138901354.html]http://www.lvrj.com/news/state-sen-kihu ... 01354.html
