Former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr announces he is running for Congress. The 11th district includes an area that Barr used to represent before he lost a member v member (John Linder) race in 2002.The Republican scheduled a news conference for Thursday morning at an outdoors store in Smyrna, Ga., to officially enter the race for the 11th District seat being vacated by GOP Rep. Phil Gingrey, who is running for Senate. The former congressman spoke with CQ Roll Call on the same day the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on a portion of the Defense of Marriage Act, which Barr sponsored in 1996. He has since advocated for a repeal of the law, writing an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times shortly before President Barack Obama was inaugurated in January 2009.[/break1]rollcall.com/georgia-ex-rep-bob-barr-mounts-congressional-comeback/]http://atr.rollcall.com/georgia-ex-rep- ... -comeback/Georgia should be interesting in 2014.

Did you know that Bob Barr is going to personally deliver an indictment against Obama on the Senate floor?

Tampering (of Orly's web site) may soon come to an end. Beforeitsnews.com reporting: Former Congressman Bob Barr has announced that he himself will deliver the indictment of Barack Obama to the House floor. Barr also lambasts the House of Representatives, saying that their own INACTION on Obama’s crimes have helped Obama to consolidate his power while announcing that it must be stopped immediately.I did not look for the story at Beforeitsnews. It is not on Barr's twitter or web site. :-k

So, anyone can wander onto the floor of the Senate and deliver an indictment? Unless I read it wrong the guy's a former congressman running for an open seat. Or do they mean he'll deliver it after and if he's elected and he's persuaded a majority of his colleagues to vote for something that will go nowhere in the Senate.

I tried to find a Bob Barr story on Before Its News site. There aren't many. The closest is: [/break1]com/obama-birthplace-controversy/2013/08/bob-barr-joins-senator-coburn-multiple-us-representatives-who-find-that-obamas-actions-in-violations-of-the-patriot-act-as-well-as-abuses-in-irs-doj-nsa-fec-and-others-are-impeachable-offe-2465850.html]http://beforeitsnews.com/obama-birthpla ... 65850.htmlThat story is from reporter 'Orly Taitz" and links to her web site 8/26/2013 post: [/break1]orlytaitzesq.com/?p=431664]http://www.orlytaitzesq.com/?p=431664That post has a link to Washington Post: [/break1]washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/25/bobby-jindal-rejects-gop-talk-of-impeaching-obama/]http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... ing-obama/There is one mention of Barr in the article.August 25, 2013 Bobby Jindal rejects GOP talk of impeaching Obama...Bob Barr, a former congressman from Georgia who helped managed the articles of impeachment against President Clinton, told The New York Times that the administration’s “improper use of the Patriot Act” and unilateral actions on immigration also raise questions....This could be a common error due to Orly's poor reading comprehension skills and desperate attempts to smear all she can.Maybe this story will grow and be attached to Barr as the truth. Kind of like the story about Rep. Rick Womick flying in planes full of illegals.I don't know where the Barr indictment story originated.

Bob Barr talks impeaching Barack Obama with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones

WASHINGTON – Bob Barr was endorsed by noted conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in an interview last week in which Barr pledges to try to impeach President Barack Obama if he returns to Congress.

Barr is competing in a heated GOP primary to replace Rep. Phil Gingrey. The Republican-turned-Libertarian-turned-Republican again is best known for being the engine behind President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in the 1990s. ...

Barr: “Alex, I was with some folks just recently and pulled out of a file in my office the House resolution, the House resolution that I introduced on November fifth of 1997 that was the very first official inquiry of impeachment filed against Bill Clinton and that was mine. And at the time I think I had 18 co-sponsors was all, in November of 1997. And what I did is I took that document, figuratively kind of dusted it off, added a little bit of language to it and darned if it doesn’t sound pretty good with Barack Obama’s name in there.”

Jones: “Oh man. So I think it’s safe to say when you get back in Congress, the evidence is already there, you’re going to start looking at the inquiry to begin looking for co-sponsors for indicting the president in the House, and I guess he will be tried in the Senate?”

Barr: “I think it really has come to that. It’s not something I like to say. When I left the House before after we impeached Clinton, you know, my hope was we wouldn’t have to go through that process again. But we do. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You cannot ignore the law. You cannot simply violate the law, violate the Constitution because from a policy standpoint you deem it appropriate to do so. We don’t operate that way in America, and you are not going to be permitted any longer to do that.”

¡Sterngard! come home.

No Democratic candidates filed to run, making the winner of the battle between former Representative Bob Barr and state Senator Barry Loudermilk the winner of the seat.

[/break1]org/Georgia's_11th_Congressional_District_elections,_2014]http://ballotpedia.org/Georgia's_11th_C ... ions,_2014The Cook Political Report Partisan Voter Index rates the Georgia 11th congressional district as R+19. Guess I understand why no Democrat filed to run.

I get that a Democrat wouldn't win. But somebody should be there to make the Republicans defend their ideas.

It's not necessary to win every battle to win a war. Some battles you're not going to win (KS-01 and MO-07 come to mind quickly). Accept that and move on to those you can.
