Don't you think she looks tired? HRC Health CTs

Who knew that trump was a Sci-Fi fan? In what strikes this this long-time fan as a surreal twist, trump and the Breitbart gang are now mining Doctor Who for campaign strategy.

For those of you without a TARDIS, the tenth Doctor famously declared that he could take down the prime minister of England with six words (which he whispered to one of the PM's aids). It worked:
"The Doctor reacts furiously to what he perceives as cold blooded murder [approved by PM Harriet Jones] and tells her that he can bring her down with just six words: "Don't you think she looks tired?" In the episode's dénouement, Jones faces rumours of ill-health and a vote of no confidence.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harriet_Jones

Seriously this rumor-mongering about HRC's health and her pillows and epilepsy and brain tumors and faked medical reports and fucking autism deserves its own thread. I for one am glad that the HRC campaign is fighting back:
Hillary Clinton’s campaign on Tuesday pushed back against rumors circulating on right-wing media sites that her health is failing, issuing a statement slamming Donald Trump for pushing "deranged conspiracy theories."

“While it is dismaying to see the Republican nominee for president push deranged conspiracy theories in a foreign policy speech, it’s no longer surprising,” said Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton’s communication director, in the statement.

Clinton's campaign also released a statement from her doctor, Dr. Lisa Bardack, who reiterated the Democratic nominee was in good health and said documents circulating under her name that said otherwise were fake.

“As Secretary Clinton’s long time physician, I released a medical statement during the campaign indicating that she is in excellent health,” Dr. Bardack said.

Edited for cardinal sin commission (thanks guppy!).

#HillarysStools: Clinton Using Chairs as Crutches in Countless Speeches
Wait a minute! I thought Trump said Hillary was constantly taking time off and going home to sleep. How can she be giving "Countless Speeches" too?

New Gingrich's reaction to Dr. Drew's absurd statement.
Newt Gingrich dismissed outright as "junk medicine" on Thursday theories about Hillary Clinton's state of health and treatment, after board-certified internist and media personality Drew Pinsky speculated that the Democratic nominee is not receiving a proper level of care.
:snippity:
"Well, I think first of all, just to get down to the human level for a second, all of us ought to include Hillary Clinton in our prayers. You can be opposed to somebody without hoping they have bad health and I hope that she's all right," Gingrich responded. "Second, I’m always dubious, with all due respect to television doctors, when you have a doctor who has never seen the patient, begin to give you a complicated, fancy sounding analysis based on what? I mean, I would be very cautious and I would recommend to doctors for professional reasons to be very cautious deciding you’re going to start analyzing people. Because next you're gonna get a left-wing psychiatrist explaining Donald Trump in negative terms."

Co-host Steve Doocy responded, "Well they already have that."

"I think we ought to recognize that's kind of junk medicine," Gingrich said. "That’s not the real deal."

Most people who've heard of "Dr. Drew" think he's a psychiatrist. He's obviously not. Idk if he still has a contract with CNN, but I've always thought he was a media whore who shouldn't be pulling a Bill Frist.

ETA: Drew Pinskey should inform himself on stuff like "facts." Hillary did not "meet someone in Arkansas when she was a kid," she grew up in the Chicago 'burbs. What a freaking moron. And media whore.

Tolland posted a video and some articles a few days ago about Dukakis's dreadful plunge in the polls and eventual loss to the Elder Bush after the tank fiasco and a piling on of other attacks immediately thereafter. He had been leading in the polls. Dukakis wasn't brought down by the ridiculous tank stunt per se, but the campaign DID NOT RESPOND to Bush's escalating attacks, leaving the impression that he was weak and ineffectual.

Hillz won't make that mistake. She is ready.

That was my thought as well. And I couldn't find Gingrich criticizing Frist.

(But, in Drew's defense, he is an internist.)

OMG! How could I screw that up? I'm so sorry, so so sorry! :bag:

I need the TARDIS to see if I can go back and change it--or live the rest of my life in shame.

Fortunately the TARDIS was available. Whew! :bighug: Did I ever tell you about the time I had drinks with Tom Baker at a con in Philly back in the day? He was my Doctor.

Apparently the ad about Willie Horton (which I think was more damaging) was produced by my cousin's wife.

Yes, definitely! Hillary Clinton has plenty of real political experience in her own right and she also has Presidents Obama and Clinton on her team. Compared with Trump's band of turd-flinging howler monkeys that's an awesome trio, even without a suprr-tough backroom team.

Agreed. HRC's campaign manager was on Rachel Maddow last night, and they discussed the issue of responding to batshit crazy rumors, using the swiftboating of John Kerry as a parallel. Mook, the CM, said that they responded this week to the health nonsense because Trump himself had brought it up. Rachel asked if they would respond to all the crazy crap from now on, or if they would go case by case. Mook said, "the latter." It was clear that they were ready for this and had made their decision. BTW, Rachel's take was that this wasn't going to get Trump any new votes, and would chase the undecideds away in droves.

Was just reading about the response to the "having a seizure" attack.

(Wrote this out earlier but it musta disappeared. Hope there's no dupe.)

Jared Yates tweeted his experiences at the Greensboro Trump rally the other night (mentioned in the Trump thread), including this:

Jared Yates Sexton @JYSexton
And now they're talking about Clinton's brain damage. "She's basically a vegetable." "A criminal vegetable."

https://storify.com/case_face/a-trump-r ... ign=buffer

I honestly don't know any more if these wingnuts say this crap because Trump and his (ehem Breitbart ehem) gang have been pushing it, or if Trump & co have been pushing it because they get their ideas from the wing nuts. Probably a time paradox. (More channeling Doctor Who.) But I do know that this can't just be stupidity or brainwashing. Whatever it is, it's surreal.

Okay that's a new term for me. I had to guess (and confirm via the google).

Gotta love it when a physician uses their authority to feed the nut-job maw? Wasn't there another one a few years ago? Claiming that Obama was psychotic and hated whites because of his colonial roots (I know, so many people have said that it's hard to keep track)? Or am I just thinking of Dr. Drew?

Susan Del Percio, Republican strategist apologist was on with Al Sharpton this AM spouting modestly sane spin (but still spin). Al brought up the latest attacks on HRC's health (playing the video, which I hate). She glibly reported that these attacks on "strength and stamina" have been around a long time before she said that such attacks aren't the way to go, it's a bunch of nonsense, heshouldfighontheissuesblahblahblah.

Not for the first time, it's clear to me that Trump takes at least two points of view on every issue. John McCain isn't a war hero; John McCain is a war hero. Second amendment people can do something; second amendment people can vote. Ad nauseam.

He says whatever echoes back from the crowd (in this case the rest of the planet, which he appears to have vaguely heard). The current supposed turnaround on immigration is another case in point. His hardcore and racist supporters will ignore the contradiction, which is aimed at the supposed middle of the roaders who are currently leaning Hillary; an attempt to get them to consider him.
