FiveAcres
FiveAcres
I supposed I could call myself an aspiring mixed media artist and have lived in Colorado for over three decades. We used to have horses, but when the last one went on to his reward we sold our country acreage and downsized to a nearby suburb. I do agility with our two dogs: a boisterous Boston Terrier and an elderly Miniature Schnauzer. I worked in IT for a telecommunications company before I retired some time ago.
Avatar was a photo I took by Killary Fjord in 2005. Killary Fjord is in Northern Connemara, Ireland.
Re: FiveAcres
I've never had one, but I love miniature schnauzers. I have a friend who has had one or two at a time for the last 30 years. She now has a two-year-old. Smart and cute little pups.

Sorry to hear about the lack of horse companionship, but we definitely would like to see some of your art, please.sugar magnolia wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 12:40 pmWould love to see some of your art.FiveAcres wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 11:54 am I supposed I could call myself an aspiring mixed media artist and have lived in Colorado for over three decades. Rites of passage are pretty much few and far between by the time one reaches my age. Despite this, I had a rite of passage today: I applied for Medicare using the online system. I was ridiculously anxious about the process, so my partner sat and watched and made sure I didn't fat finger anything. Since we were both retired (not voluntarily) at a relatively young age, we have been sweating our health care coverage for years. ACA was wonderful for us and watching the Republicans attempt to kill it was agonizing. My partner qualified for Medicare three years ago, and now I just have a few months to go.

Re: FiveAcres
My neighbor had a miniature schnauzer named Graul (he had a suave, Gomez Adams-style mustache, a thin black line that ran down both sides of his muzzle). He had a bromance going with my dog and would tunnel under the fence. We’d come home from work to find them lounging in the shade in the back yard. Or not find them, Pop having enlarged the dig and gone to Graul’s place.
We put a doggie door in the fence.

Re: FiveAcres
I think I would have recognized the HeatherGray horse avatar, but you changed that, too also.
Anyway, I always enjoyed your posts, and I still do.
