Sugar, I'm sending strength and support your way and for your son and your family. I can't imagine this diagnosis for one of my (grown) babies. Breathe. Then fight.

As everyone said, hugs are not sympathy.
Hugs are love. We love you and yours, Sugar.

Thanks, Vic, for that wonderful.photo.

Another virtual hug - you really can't have enough of those. Convert that into a real hug for your son.

Stage III with lymph node involvement. He meets with the oncologist Tuesday to get started on his "very aggressive" chemo and radiation.

I have no words.
I have words -Big hugs and thoughts of healing for you guys.

Mrs_G got a subscription to the-surgery-of-the-month club back in the late 90's and it kept getting renewed until 2004-ish after the doctors whittled away enough to stop the progress. We joked they should have put a zipper in so they could work easier. She's a survivor.

PS - hospital staff are not allowed to accept gratuities, but if someone leaves a plate of cookies out, they magically disappear.

So much love for you and your family. Available to answer any questions you might have about the plan of care.
Yes, cookies and baked goods DO magically disappear. I can vouch for that.

It was part of an evil plan to secretly get staff to visit her more often. I absconded with a stainless rolling tray, put a floral towel over it, left a tin foil tray of cookies under a clear plastic cover, and placed it at the end of her bed in plain view from the doorway. Worked! She was very popular.

They love candy too!!!!! My mom taught me that. Hubby would keep bags of candy in his father's hospital room with a huge bowl for refills. I would visit and play Big Band music for him. The staff called it the Happy Room. Father-in-law had suffered a massive head injury but was alert and could communicate minimally. He loved the music.
