I haven't had one in years. My KP HMO was always in the money-saving mode and wouldn't give me one. Now with me being on Medicare with a Plan F I may have better luck. Nothing feels better than having an endoscopy come back negative.

I dunno. If I had a set of those I'd rather have them removed than have a surgeon dissecting, bisecting and resecting my back door parts. I speak as a guy, though.

We're pretty well emotionally attached to those things, far out of proportion to their actual value.

My mammo came back okay. It was the first one I had in about 6 or 7 years, so that was a relief. The newer machines don't hurt as much as I remember.

My colonoscopy is the "you're supposed to have one at 50" one. Oops. The man managed to avoid his until 59.
Don't wait! As noted above, the drugs are great. More important (and based on personal knowledge) it can catch and get rid of stuff before there's a real problem. Far less traumatic than waiting until there IS a real problem!

I think that may be due to a much better radiologist/technicians. I have to have these more frequently than most (triple high-risk factors). Same two places (one in Shanghai, one in PHX), same equipment ... but very different experiences depending on WHO is running the machine.

My life partner is a stage-IV BC survivor, and on looking back at the mammograms was clearly missed for several years before it metastasized..

My mother's side of the family has a history of colon cancer, so starting at 50 I've been on colonoscopies every 5..

My next door neighbor and one of the couple that are our best friends three doors down are both Radiological Oncologists.

As an experienced ("old") techie, I'm starting to try to figure out how I can maybe help make use of 'the technology that lets us take selfies we'll regret' and maybe help radiologists see the bad stuff thru the noise.

I'm going to get the colonoscopy within the next couple months. I've been getting mammograms since I was 26, when my mom died of breast cancer. I was getting them every 2 years, but a few years ago my regular doctor retired and I hated his replacements. I spent the last few years going to urgent care places when I needed a dictor. After my heart scare in November I was told by the hospital as part of my release instructions to GET A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN. I did. A nice young enthusiastic lad who keeps giving me referrals for every damn thing. Hence visits to the cardiologist, gynecologist and gastroenterologist and from those visits subsequent stress tests, pap smears, mammograms, pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds, colonoscopies.

The cardiologist gave me some pictures.

don't ask me what this all means, he explained it all, (like a kid with a new toy) but most of it went over my head.

Glad you're home and OK. And jealous you have a heart. As you know, being a lawyer, mine was removed by the B.A.R. association (and Queen Elizabeth and the Pope).

an update. well the second ablation didn’t last as long as the first. I’ve not been responding to the meds, so now they want to go with the nuclear option.

AV node ablation and pacemaker insertion.

it’s scheduled for October 19.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this.

Ohh, I wanna play in this thread.

Chilidog, did the cardiologist tell ya there are 2 types of cardiologists, plumbers and electricians? I got a plumber on my ‘team’ in January, I like him.

And future stuffs, currently scheduled for one of these on Dec 6th.
