Merry Christmas - just wrapped the presents. Bought a big thing for Mrs. Reeve. Couldn't handle the wrapping paper so used a tarp and bungee cords. I might be divorced tomorrow (not really she will think it is funny cuz that is the way Scir rolls and we've been married a long ass time).

We're celebrating Christmas/Hanukkah with heavy rain for several days. Road closures, etc. Barely made it to my house tonight on a dirt/now mud road that goes up and down winding hills on it's way to my house. Some flooding on the roads, but the flood warning was just canceled.

I would have been thrilled to get the tarp and bungee cords as a gift, but that's the way I roll.

We had our Real Christmas a few days ago with Verbie and Listeme, so today is reading and playing with Tricksy.

Happy to be home with my family, and driving up to Bathysphere or wherever it is mañana to spend time with my dad for a few days.

It looks like I didn't get a pony. Again.

I was getting covfefe and thought, "So this is Christmas 2019. Well, maybe next year we'll have a new president-elect and the country will have a better future." But it's just a hope. The sad truth is, if he's defeated in the election, this time next year he'll be doing everything he can to wreck the country before he has to go.

But maybe we'll still have a better future, after that ... and the schadenfreude of reading his tweets might be fun.

Merry Christmas, y'all!

Good morning, and Merry Christmas everyone.

Our Sunday Dinner Clubbers came through. Mrs mentioned she doesn't have the energy to bake, and would be putting store bought cookies out for guests this year. Neighbors being neighbors spread the word, and we now have enough trays of various homemade Christmas goodies to host a small primary school bake sale. It was a very busy yesterday afternoon answering the door. We are surrounded by awesome people.

We also got a jar of BBQ mopping sauce. I think that's a hint. Dunno. Could be.

We don’t celebrate Christmas, which somehow makes it worse that we are out of coffee.

But for all my Fogbow buddies who do celebrate Christmas and have coffee:

I might be able to squeeze this into the prayers of the people today.

Dropped off Mrs. V and our daughter and son in law at the airport for their flight to California which took off 20 minutes ago.

Now it is just me, the 3 cats and the 3 rats.

Over the last two days I have received intensive training in the care and feeding of rats. ;)

Dinner last night-

Merry Chwanzaakkah! We go to my twin's house to have our traditional lasagne lunch with my youngest (the Kid), his significant other, my brother and SIL, my cousin and her hubby, and assorted hangers on.

Hubby is cooking in mass quantities in the true Conehead style.

Y'all enjoy whichever holiday or holidays you celebrate.

Now to the point. What did Tricksy and Lt. Root Beer get for Xmas?

Man Cajoles His 17 Dachshunds into Christmas Sweaters So They Can Pose for Best Family Photo in History

Although Beach said the elaborate yuletide photo required a full bag of treats and almost an hour of patience, he was eventually able to photograph Buster, Daisy, Ziggy, Wallie, Zac, Bonnie, Saffie, Duke, Diamond, Ruby, Kizzy, Sammy, Kansy, Kiki, Lottie, Benji, and Dudley all dressed up in their holiday best.

This is not the first time that the 20-year-old from Rhondda, Wales, has managed to capture a pic of the pups on the stairs, but his previous effort only required about 10 minutes of orchestration; this Christmas photo demanded a lot more work because of the doggie sweaters.

I was. I woke up in the middle of the night with a Krampus in my leg. My potassium levels sometimes get low...

Rats are sweet. Sprout named his Scabbers.

He didn’t pick a fancy black and white rat or some such , noooo, he picked a common grey rat. Scabbers played flip-the-rat with the dogs, avoided the cats, and escaped regularly to father litters with the wild rats. We’d notice he was missing, go outside to the chicken coop and call his name. Out he’d come, usually buttoning his fly and smoking a cigarette, and climb up our pant leg to be carried home.

We've been really busy, so my grandkids and I made our own Christmas Tree with the house plants...

It was a good Christmas, we got a plastic alligator head that floats in the pond to scare people fishing, and a little garden monster statue that's eating gnomes. And a new birdhouse! Plus too also, everyone got socks!

Happy Christmas Fogbozers!

The power of prayer! A neighbor had an extra half-pound of fresh coffee beans so we were able to rejoin the world of the living, in addition to which, the same neighbor invited us to Christmas brunch.

I actually love the Christmas season: the sumptuous parties with delicious food, the music, the beauty of my part of the country in winter, the diverse cultures, the cheeriness, the goodwill and generosity of old and new friends. What’s not to love?

As we traditionally do, after brunch we headed south for a bit of snow-free hiking, then adjourned to the home of some friends from the Labs and are now embarked on preparing our Chinese feast with them, to be followed by a night out at the movies.

So, Christmas 2019 has come and gone already, and still nobody can tell me her name.

The whore.

You know the song. They sing about her every year - one whore's open sleigh.

All these years, and not one person has told us what her name is. But, she's deadly. Just what are slaying songs exactly? Do I need to be ready with a broadsword, or a simple dagger if she comes rolling up on me? Is this why Santa dresses in red - Because he's a butcher covered in blood? Is Santa the whore?

I don't get it.
