We went through similar with my precious Ellie. She did several rounds of chemo for throat cancer, and all was well. A year or so later, we took her in because losing weight and no energy. The tests said lung cancer and an infection. We were all heartbroken. They gave her antibiotics, and we prepared for her time to end. We had said no more chemo. But she perked up in a few weeks and we took her back in. New X-rays, and the vet came back in tears. It wasn’t cancer, it was pneumonia and Old Dog Lungs!!! We were all so happy! For pneumonia!! Because that was curable!

:bighug: :bighug: Love ‘Em while you got ‘Em. Their time is way too short, and they are way too good.

COVID19 info for doggos and catz

While 2 dogs (Hong Kong) and 1 cat (Belgium) have been reported to have been infected, there's limited evidence. However, dogs and cats can have other types of coronaviruses that don't cross to humans.
While there is currently no evidence to date of animals becoming ill with or spreading COVID-19, routine infection control standards should be followed as outlined by the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians’ (NASPHV). This is because animals are able to transmit other zoonotic pathogens.
https://www.avma.org/resources-tools/an ... g-pandemic
There is no reason at this time to think that any animals, including pets, in the United States might be a source of infection with this new coronavirus that causes COVID-19. To date, CDC has not received any reports of pets or other animals becoming sick with COVID-19 in the United States.

Pets have other types of coronaviruses that can make them sick, like canine and feline coronaviruses. These other coronaviruses cannot infect people and are not related to the current COVID-19 outbreak.

However, since animals can spread other diseases to people, it’s always a good idea to practice healthy habits around pets and other animals, such as washing your hands and maintaining good hygiene. For more information on the many benefits of pet ownership, as well as staying safe and healthy around animals including pets, livestock, and wildlife, visit CDC’s Healthy Pets, Healthy People website.

My beloved Ted was coughing and snorting blood yesterday. I raced him to the vet. Tests weren't conclusive other than very low platelets. He's taking medicine for an autoimmune disorder and doing well so far.

When I found him, I promised to care for him. But he has also helped me through difficult days. I love him so much. :lovestruck:

He even dragged a blanket over to the entrance of his dog house and stayed with the stray cat to protect her. The cat and her kitties now live in the human's house and hangs out with Hades.

I've mentioned before that Ted's quality of life greatly improved with CBD, including reduction in anxiety around men (he was an abused dog). He's approaching men for pats. Last week when we were leaving the veterinarian clinic, instead of running away as fast as he could, he turned back and went to the vet for pats and snuggles. Some here asked me which brand I was using. healthyhemppet.com And here's 20% off in May with CannaMay.

That was awesome. I use a set of folding stairs for my Miniature Schnauzer because he can't jump up to his crate in the car, and he won't allow me to pick him up.
