This is Beaulinda, found yesterday along a 4-lane North Carolina highway in the rain.

She's injured, her lower lip separated from her jaw but the docs think they can fix that. She's a 14.5 ounce little ball of sweetness.

She's playing and eating, it's the infected lip thingy that worries us. Doc has her on meds and there's no reason to believe she won't be around.

If you have access to Facebook, here's a video of her playing 12 hours after the trip to the vet's office:

One of Mrs. V's music friends adopted two kittens that were left in a box behind the Home Depot here.

There is one good thing about covid19. Homeless kitties, doggies, and other critters are finding homes. My local animal shelter placed all animals in a few days. Some forever pets, some in foster homes. Animals still are being abandoned, but very few. After a couple of days in isolation and medical checks, they are fostered and can be adopted. And to help people in financial distress keep their pets, the shelter has a pet food bank.

I seriously considered fostering a dog because Ted is so sad that he can't go to Big Dog Park. (I hope it reopens soon.)

There are a gazillion stories about the kennels emptying. Here are two.

Amid more pet adoptions, this dog pound is empty for the first time ever

Why fostering a shelter animal during the coronavirus pandemic is a win-win
We can stave off loneliness and decrease stress during social isolation by saving a life.

Honestly, I don't think I'd be doing as well without Ted. He keeps me company and makes me get up in the morning. And he in return shows how much he loves having me around. Gonna be tough to return to my office. (Fortunately, that's at least a month away, and probably longer.)

Lovely babies, doesn't look like they were traumatized at all. Good for Mrs V's friend.
