This is the LIRR overpass near our cottage. This is not a real accident. It is from a Netflix show "Friends from College" that shot an episode in our town.

I have been sitting at the train station when a truck hit the bridge. Once it was one of those POD like moving containers but with a tarp/canvas cover over an aluminum frame. Somebody's stuff need up all over Davis street.

Too many drivers not heading warnings or knowing the size of their load.

Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

It is, but it isn't in Hillsboro, it's about 3 hours south of there in Hillsdale. Small, but important, difference to the people who live there.

I don't have Twitter so don't know if you can't edit posts, but the OP makes it clear in the follow up posts that it's Hillsdale, MS.

On the Green Line at 11:00 on a glorious weather day that is also Pride Parade Day (12:00) and a home Rex Sox game (1:00)? Could the Green Line be any more crowded? Answer: no. That’s peak.

(Fenway station is one of the 3 Green Line stations with 2 blocks of our former condo in Boston.)

It would be a bigger news story if something wasn't burning in Dupo.

That's a wreck that reminds me of the "Hazmat Rule of Thumb" - which I would definitely be applying if I was anywhere near that burning tank car.

Close one eye. Hold out your arm. If you can't block your view of the entire incident with your thumb, you're too close.

I suppose that's an easier rule to apply in the field than when recast in Code of Practice language, something like: 4.6.3(c) The safe zone for monitoring an incident of major conflagration as defined in section 4.1.1 shall be considered to start at the locus of points where the horizontal dimension of the incident subtends an angle of two degrees of arc at an observer's eye and extend therefrom away from the incident.

Around 12:45 p.m., approximately 14 rail cars derailed in Union Pacific's Dupo Yard near Carondelet Avenue between Main and Adams Road. No injuries have been reported.

At the time of the derailment, a train was being built for departure; however, the exact cause remains under investigation. As a result of the derailment, a tank car caught fire. Initial information indicates that the tank car contained a flammable liquid called methyl isobutyl ketone, which is typically used as a solvent.
