This isn't a shooting but its very relevant. Its a facebook donate link for a firefighter...
Buffalo Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Structure Fire Saturday night. The house was full of loaded guns and ammo. As a result of the heat, all of the bullets began to explode from the structure and one bullet shot our fire fighter in the eye and traveled around in his head, exiting behind his ear. He has been in ICU since that night. He has endured a fractured skull and a brain bleed. They were unable to save his eye and he may have lost hearing. He will be out of work for months maybe . He has a wife and almost 3 year old son.

followup on the Parkland shooting
Florida Senate votes to remove Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel from office
By Eliott C. McLaughlin, Dianne Gallagher and Angela Barajas, CNN
Updated 1312 GMT (2112 HKT) October 24, 2019

Tallahassee, Florida (CNN)The Florida Senate on Wednesday voted to officially remove Scott Israel from his elected position as the Broward County sheriff.

The 25-15 vote finalizes Gov. Ron DeSantis' executive order suspending Israel from the position due to allegations of neglect of duty and failures in his department's responses to mass shootings in 2017 at the Fort Lauderdale airport and in 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Wednesday's vote agrees with a recommendation by the Senate Rules Committee, which voted narrowly Monday night to support DeSantis' decision to suspend Israel. That was despite a Senate-appointed special master recommending Israel be reinstated.

The five state senators representing portions of Broward County voted to reinstate the former sheriff.

* Cops were present at the scene 15 minutes before the shooting

*. Lots of ass-covering going on from all kinds of agencies/institutions

*. No mention of the race of the victims

*. Police say shooter is at large, no description of shooter.

One of the reports was three victims were airlifted to a local trauma hospital.

Crowd was over 700. Curious what the venue capacity is.

Sheriff says at briefing that witnesses were not being cooperative.

That's equal to 175 people in my house. Just a tad bit too crowded for anyone to do much more than just stand there.

Still a fluid story, but there was some security there maybe off duty officers? If so, and crowds were over capacity, why didn't they do anything? Or management? Imagine if there'd been a fire?

Capacity is probably fine if this an open hall not configured for a sit down dinner.

Sounds like this may have been a rave and perhaps why the witnesses don't want to cooperate.

Gunfire erupts at vigil for two killed at off-campus college homecoming party in Greenville, Texas, police say
By Eliott C. McLaughlin, Amanda Watts and Amir Vera, CNN
Updated 0416 GMT (1216 HKT) October 28, 2019

(CNN)The candlelight vigil for two people killed at an off-campus homecoming party near Greenville, Texas, was interrupted by gunfire Sunday, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting around 8 p.m. CDT and found a disturbance during the vigil led to shots being fired, according to Dallas police spokeswoman Tamika Dameron.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, but several vehicles were damaged, Dameron said.

The vigil comes just one day after two people were killed and 14 others were injured during a party Saturday.

At 14, He Stayed Away From Trouble. But a Bullet Flew 100 Yards.
A boy and a dream crumpled to the concrete on a basketball court in Queens.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/31/nyre ... &smtyp=cur
He was a 14-year-old boy playing basketball at dusk before curfew. Just another night, on his usual court, focused on the game he envisioned as his future.

Then came the gunshots, splintering the fall air. From 100 yards down the block, a bullet sailed across a parking lot, slipped through a fence and struck the teenager — a neighborhood jewel whom everyone knew — Aamir Griffin.

:snippity:

Some would chalk it up to wrong place, wrong time. But Aamir had been where he was meant to be: outside his apartment building in Jamaica, Queens, shooting hoops, staying far from the trouble that had lured away so many of his peers.

:snippity:

Crime is at an all-time low across New York City, dropping to levels not seen for nearly seven decades. But gun violence still flares in some pockets, shattering worlds and igniting despair. Officials have attributed recent bursts to gang conflicts.

Two dead, at least 4 injured in shooting at a Los Angeles-area high school; suspect in custody

By Mia Nakaji Monnier, Moriah Balingit and Katie Mettler
November 14, 2019 at 10:25 p.m. GMT+1

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — A 16-year-old student pulled a gun from his backpack and opened fire on classmates at a high school north of Los Angeles on Thursday morning, striking five people before turning the gun on himself. Two students, a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, died at a hospital.

The shooter, whose attack unfolded at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita in front of surveillance cameras, survived his self-inflicted gunshot wound and was in grave condition at a hospital, authorities said at a news conference shortly before noon local time. Police said he turned 16 on Thursday.

The shooting victims who survived include a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy. The incident unfolded in the quad of the school, a popular outdoor gathering spot for students, a place with trees and picnic tables.

Almost the same moment gunfire erupted in Santa Clarita (about 11 ET), Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith objected to moving a background check bill added to the Senate calendar on March 4. Said it shouldn't be "fast tracked" and it might stop her from lending a rifle to a grandson.

Santa Clarita Gunman Dies as Investigators Struggle to Uncover Motive
The F.B.I. was scouring social media for clues to why a high school student killed two classmates and then himself.

By Nicholas Bogel-Burroughs
Nov. 15, 2019

The 16-year-old student who killed two of his classmates in Santa Clarita, Calif., died from his self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday, complicating investigators’ efforts to understand why he pulled a handgun from his backpack and shot five other people.

The police said they know that his mother dropped him off at school on Thursday morning. They know there were six more weapons inside his house. What they do not know is why he did it.

“We did not find any manifesto, any diary that spelled it out, any suicide note, or any writings which will clearly identify his motive behind this assault,” Capt. Kent Wegener of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said at a news conference on Friday before the gunman’s death. He said that the police had conducted more than 40 interviews, but that “no motive or rationale” had been uncovered.

(CNN)Two people were hospitalized after gunfire broke out during a high school football game in New Jersey on Friday night, sending terrified fans diving under bleachers.
The shooting happened during a game between Camden and Pleasantville high schools, CNN affiliate WPVI-TV reported. It started at the end of the third quarter.
Both victims -- a young male and a "juvenile" suffered serious injuries, Pleasantville Police Chief Sean Riggin said. :snippity:

Gun owner killed trying to stop Houston pawn shop robbery

https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texa ... m=referral
Two masked men entered the EZ Pawn store in the 6000 block of Bellaire Boulevard around 7:50 p.m., forcing employees to the ground and rushing to the back of the store, according to the Houston Police Department. The victim, who police said had a concealed handgun license, waited inside for the suspected robbers to return to the front of the store.

Once they came to the front, the victim pulled his gun and exchanged gunfire with the two suspects, police said. The victim was struck several times and fell to the floor, according to detectives.

The two suspects fled the scene. It is unclear if either of them was shot.

Paramedics rushed the injured gun owner to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.
Good guy with a gun fails to stop robbery and gets himself killed.
