 That’s one of my Costcos. I’m in an area that straddles a bunch of freeways. There are three or four within 15 mins, depending which freeway you’re on.

Do you see any end in sight to this madness? Fuck the NRA.
Looks like this one wasn't 'NRA', but instead a case of police violence:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/17/us/costc ... index.html

Cop was 'protecting his family' from a mentally disabled man who bumped into him and felt he had to shoot both the guy and his parents just to be safe.
I wouldn't call this police violence. I'd say this was an off-duty officer who had no business on the force in the first place. Not only did he shoot the whole family, he caused mass panic for everyone present in the store.

The city, police department, and their insurance carrier best get their checkbooks ready.

To which Trump replied, Fuck the law. I don't give a fuck about the law. I want my fucking money.

This is just stupidity on parade. Every story I've seen makes it a point to mention the fact that he was holding/carrying/with his child. What normal person whips out a weapon and starts firing while they're holding their own child? The other guy is either unarmed and no danger to either of them, or he's armed and capable of shooting you AND your kid. His desire to shoot somebody apparently overwhelmed his natural instinct to protect his child. Either that or he just didn't give a shit as long as he got to take one down.

He needs to lose his job, his kid, and his freedom.

When I said Fuck the NRA I meant it. Pushing this culture of hyper-aggressive, stupid masculinity is what they do best. They didn’t invent it, they were only doing their cultural masters’ bidding but look at them now, revealed for the tools they are.

When I posted about the shooting very little info was available and I’ve been too busy to look. The first reports mentioned only that an off-duty officer was involved, but as though he got involved in it afterwards.

Stupid stupid stupid.

ETA; just read the stories. even worse! He had an intellectual disability - perhaps autism? Oh, this is very bad. I hope this jackass gets the book thrown at him, his wife leaves him and his kids disown him forever.

Gunman shot dead after opening fire on federal courthouse in downtown Dallas

This is a breaking news story and it is constantly being updated.

A man in a mask and combat gear who opened fire Monday morning at the Earle Cabell federal courthouse in downtown Dallas was shot by officers before he could injure anyone.

The shooter, Brian Issaack Clyde, 22, died at the scene and was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, after police responded to an active shooter call, officials said.
:snippity:
The federal building is likely to remain on lockdown for the rest of the day.

Dallas police detonated a suspicious device around 10:40 a.m. in the vehicle of the man who shot at the courthouse. The blast was strong enough to shake several sapling trees blocks away. police were searching downtown for other possible devices. Many downtown buildings are on lockdown or evacuated. Many streets are closed as police search for suspicious devices.

Brothers shot, one fatally, while sleeping under Southwest Freeway overpass

https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texa ... socialflow
The brothers were sleeping under the U.S. 59 overpass at 3500 Fountain View when they were shot about 9:40 a.m. Sunday.

Reginal Odom, 44, was declared dead at the scene while Victor Odom, 42, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Kese Smith, a spokesperson for the Houston Police Department, said he does not know whether the brothers were homeless.

The gunman walked away after the shooting. He had long blond or brown hair.

What we know about Brian Clyde, the gunman who opened fire at the federal courthouse in downtown Dallas
Clyde posted frequently on Facebook. On Sunday, he shared a photo of what appeared to be a sword. On Saturday, he posted a picture of a variety of ammunition magazines.
Of course he did. Of course he fucking did.

And today's the anniversary of the Mother Emanuel shooting. I'll lay money on that being foremost in this shooter's mind.

Surprise, another white supremacist right wing nut job.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/dallas-fe ... onfederacy
A Texas man accused of opening fire outside a Dallas courthouse uploaded right-wing memes to Facebook, including memes about Nazism and the Confederacy.

Authorities said Brian Clyde, 22, attacked the Earle Cabell federal courthouse Monday morning before law enforcement killed him. No one else was reported injured. A Dallas Morning News photograph of Clyde shows him holding a semi-automatic rifle and wearing a belt full of ammunition. He appears to have uploaded to his Facebook page a picture of similar magazines on Saturday. Elsewhere on the page, he shared memes, some of which suggested racist or misogynist views.

***

“I don’t know how much longer I have, but a storm is coming. However, I’m not without defense,” he said in the brief video, pulling out a rifle. “I’m fuckin’ ready. Let’s do it.”

On Saturday, he uploaded a picture of 10 gun magazines. On Sunday, he uploaded a picture of a sword with the caption “A modern gladius to defend the modern Republic.”
Maybe a coincidence, but isn't "the storm is coming" something the Qidiots say?

I think he's using it in the generic sense. MacNab has been going over his Facebook account all day apparently and hasn't tweeted anything about him being a Qidiot.

10 people are shot at a lounge in Allentown, Pennsylvania, police say

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/20/us/penns ... index.html
Ten people were injured in a shooting early Thursday outside a lounge in the eastern Pennsylvania city of Allentown, and police are looking for what they believe are several shooters, authorities said.

Several people -- likely three -- opened fire just before 2 a.m. outside the Déjà Vu nightclub, Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin and Allentown Police Chief Tony Alsleben said in a joint statement.

"This does not appear to be an indiscriminate shooting; it appears that at least one individual was a target," the joint statement reads, without saying who the target was.

No further details were immediately available about who fired the shots, Allentown police Capt. Bill Lake said. No arrests in the case have been reported.

Currently listening to scanner traffic on an active shooter at the local (Morgan Hill, CA,) Ford dealership. At least 2 shot, police, sheriff & highway patrol on scene.

They apparently have the suspect cornered, have cleared the building, and are about to escort medics in for the wounded.

Costco shooting update:
https://kfiam640.iheart.com/content/201 ... osecutors/
RIVERSIDE (CNS) - :snippity: District Attorney Mike Hestrin told City News Service that Corona police detectives submitted the case file without a specific recommendation, leaving it to the D.A.'s office to make an unbiased determination based on the facts and findings.

Hestrin would not disclose the content of the report, and he was uncertain how long his team may need to spend analyzing it and conducting follow-up interviews with witnesses.

Salvador Sanchez, an LAPD Southwest Division patrol officer, has been on administrative leave since fatally shooting 32-year-old Kenneth French and wounding his parents, Russell and Paola French, in what Corona police investigators characterized as an act of self-defense on the night of June 14 inside the Costco at 480 N. McKinley St.
:snippity:
The French family's attorney, Dale Galipo, previously told reporters Kenneth French, who had recently been taken off of his medications for undisclosed reasons, pushed or shoved the officer in the back in a food-sample line, but he denied there was any deadly threat. He also said French's father tried to explain to the officer that his son was intellectually disabled.

Dad shot in random attack died at hospital where his twins were just born
By Max Jaeger June 30, 2019 | 2:45pm | Updated

It should have been one of the best days of his life, but instead, an innocent new father died in the same hospital where his twins had just been born, according to reports.

Tyrese Garvin, 20, was walking home from the University Hospital in Louisville last Sunday after the birth of his first children, a boy and girl, when he was hit multiple times in a random shooting, local station WAVE reported.

“He was very excited at becoming a father. Then, something like this happens and his children will never get to know him. That’s sad,” a family member named Gail told the outlet.

He spent several days in the ICU at University Hospital — where his twins were being kept in the maternity ward — before dying Friday afternoon. The babies were taken to visit their father before he died.

Three people ages 14 to 17 were arrested for the shooting. Their names were not released because they are minors.

:( That's so awfully, unspeakably sad. :(

At least 8 lives directly destroyed or badly damaged: father, mother, twin babies, three young perps (while I have no sympathy for them, I nevertheless recognize that too they are victims). Plus the families and friends of these people.

But it's what the National Murder Association (NRA) want! More dead bodies! More shattered families! Worship the gun! Kill! Kill! Kill! :50caliber:

Texas toddlers critically burned after road rage shooting sets off fireworks in family truck
Lucia I. Suarez Sang By Lucia I. Suarez Sang | Fox News

Two toddlers in Texas were critically injured late Thursday night after someone opened fire into their parents’ vehicle, igniting fireworks inside, police said.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the “horrific scene” began with a road rage incident on Highway 249 near Ella.

Gonzalez said a family of four – a mom, dad and 3-year-old and one-year-old kids – were driving along when they got into a dispute with another driver. The two vehicles pulled into a gas station and both male drivers reportedly got out and exchanged words.

When the suspected shooter showed a firearm, the father got back in his vehicle and started to leave.

But the other man allegedly opened fire on the truck, setting off fireworks the family had just purchased.

Man dies after attacking immigration prison

https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-kill- ... 54699.html
A man armed with a rifle threw incendiary devices at an immigration jail in Washington state early Saturday morning, then was found dead after four police officers arrived and opened fire, authorities said.

The Tacoma Police Department said the officers responded at about 4 a.m. to the privately run Tacoma Northwest Detention Center, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security detention facility that holds migrants pending deportation proceedings. The detention center has also held immigration-seeking parents separated from their children under President Donald Trump's "zero tolerance" policy, an effort meant to deter illegal immigration.

The shooting took place about six hours after a peaceful rally in front of the detention center, police spokesman Loretta Cool said. She said another rally was planned for later Saturday, but it would have to be held in a different area because of the investigation into the police shooting.

Police said the man caused a vehicle to catch fire and that he attempted to ignite a large propane tank and set buildings on fire. Police said that besides the rifle, he had a satchel and flares.
No motive yet known.

TBH I think he was suicidal. I'm sure he has accomplished nothing. His manifesto states his intent, but his actions are just going to make things worse.

At a minimum I think the manifesto (assuming it's real) contradicts the claims that it was "only" a suicide by cop and that there was no intent to harm human beings. The phrase "the semi automatic weapon I used" and "six magazines" means at the time of writing that his plan was to use the rifle. He may have changed his mind later or simply been killed before he had the chance to shoot any staff. Anyways, he's certainly trying to convince others to actually get some shots off.

Update on the trial about the shooting at the Milo speech:

The victim refuses to testify because he’s an anarchist and doesn’t want to help the state incarcerate his attacker. It’s great stuff.

'Innocent' 62-year-old Texas woman in SUV with husband killed by unidentified shooter

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/in ... d_nn_tw_ma
A 62-year-old woman returning from a doctor's appointment with her husband and making dinner plans was killed in her SUV on Tuesday by a shooter who may have been aiming at someone else, authorities in Houston said.

Saron James and husband Cleveland James were traveling in their white Isuzu Rodeo when she was shot in the head at about 6:30 p.m., Harris County Sheriff's deputies said.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the husband said he and his wife were coming home from a doctor's appointment and chatting about dinner.

"They were almost home," Gonzalez told reporters on Tuesday night. "Everyday life, just talking about what they were going to have for dinner and the next thing you know ... These are innocent people that are just out there living life."
