Of course, Donald claimed he had to go to Erie because it would be unfair to disappoint the thousands of people waiting in line outside overnight. Problem is (or should be), the media observed that there was no one waiting outside last night, or indeed, at 11 this morning. Could it be that Donald's not being straight with us

WHAT? Are you suggesting that EGOTUS might lie about something? For shame. :swoon:

In the light of day tomorrow, there are going to be a lot more horrid photos of the storm damage.

That is some serious effing damage. It's going to take a while to bounce back from this one. And it ain't over yet.

Very sincere Thoughts and Prayers for the people from Bama to the Bend, and beyond.

Watching CNN coverage this morning. They have drones out too to look at the damage. I think it said two deaths confirmed.

Michael and the storm that flooded north Texas a few days ago are merging.

Based on what happened in Galveston after Ike, New Orleans after Katrina and parts of greater Houston after Harvey, with that level of devastation people who rode out the storm in Mexico Beach will have to evacuate now because power and water will be out for weeks and homes will be uninhabitable for months or even years.

Injured people are arriving at the hospital only to find the ER has been boarded up. The hospital has no running water and only partial electric power from generators. At least 2 other hospitals in addition to the 2 mentioned in this article are in similar shape.

Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart, a 300-bed hospital in the heart of Panama City, Fla., was a tumultuous mess on Thursday morning. Hurricane Michael had strafed the center, breaking windows, damaging roofs and stripping off the outsides of some buildings. Signage was strewn in the streets.

Doctors, nurses and staff members wandered outside, some crying, some looking for cell service.

Bay Medical was one of two hospitals in Panama City — the other being Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center — that was damaged in the storm. Both, Gov. Rick Scott told CNN, were “in the process of being closed down.” Temporary hospitals were being set up to treat people injured in the storm, the governor said, but that “we don’t know the numbers” of injured yet.

Bay Medical said in a statement that about 200 patients would be evacuated, including 39 intensive care patients who will be transferred first, to hospitals outside of the affected area. About 1,500 people had taken shelter in the hospital, the statement said.

I saw Mayor Gillum on MSNBC this morning and he said something about "the panhandular region," and I was all WTF?

Turns out, panhandular is an actual thing. Who knew?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The article at the link tells of a house that was destroyed by the storm surge. A neighbor says that a woman was on the house.

I fear that the death toll will rise once the authorities can sort out how many people have gone missing. :(
