I think the issue is that even as boring as Giddyup is, Kent is worse. There are limits.

It's actually not Kent, it's his son Eric, who has a movie, Genesis 3-D, showing in theatres two nights next week (Monday and Thursday). It costs more to see that thing than to see Thor:Ragnarok. If I'm going to a movie, I'm going to see Thor.

Jr is marginally more personable than his da, which isn't saying much, and I think just as deranged. The apple not only didn't fall far from the tree, it rotted on the stem.

President Donald Trump To Shut Down Federal Reserve Bank Corporation?
“It would take days to explain the whole fraud behind the Federal Reserve” Dr. Kent Hovind explains, “There is nothing Federal about it.”

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:10 money is the root of all evil.

Kent makes a living off of people by appealing to religion to shut down any critical thinking in this potential donors, he is a veritable fountain of conspiracy theories. skilled at the art of glib rationalization as a replacement for logical argument. Wouldn't it be a shame if someone with even less education and lucidity than he cooked up their own conspiracy theory about Kent?

Oh most assuredly you aren't besmirching the efforts of Ms. Nettie NoJohnson in her KJV only crusade to expose hidden transgender people trying to infiltrate the body of Christ? I mean her quest is every bit as important as Kent's efforts to get paid from preaching about Young Earth Creationism. In fact if Kent really is biologically female the KJV only crowd might well question if its against God's Law to allow him (her?) to preach at all.

In a video series debate with Kent Hovind, Aron Ra took up Hovind's claims that he was not convicted of fraud by getting a NY lawyer to explain the case from the appellate record. That full 11:41 minute or so video can be found here:

Part 2 of Ra's response to Hovind's challenge to a serial debate can be found here:

Note: Hovind has so far produced 7 responses to Hovind's first response and taken down 4 of them, apparently due to a legal threat over Hovind's repeated depiction of and misuse of Sponge Bob Square Pants in his videos. Yes, 7 to respond to 1. With an audience, and his same old spiel with dumb jokes. So, what do you think of Nate Broady's summary? And do you find Ra's second response entertaining?

How Tax Resistance Can Hurt Your Marriage(s) - The Kent Hovind Saga
My regular long-term readers will be either sad or dismayed that there is a new Kent Hovind story that belongs on this tax blog. . . A recent public statement by Mary Tocco, Kent's second ex-wife, is what puts him back in the tax news. Robert Baty posted the statement on August 20 and Mary Tocco confirmed to me that it was from her. Hovind's marriage to Mary Tocco had caused an uproar among some supporters.
:snippity:
Kent ended up serving a long stretch in prison (over eight years). Perhaps more damaging to Kent's first marriage was the one year that his wife Jo had to serve. Nearing the end of his prison term, he was charged with new crimes due to actions that he had taken to affect the title to property that the government had seized as a result of the first conviction. His persecution narrative became a thing inside the right wing evangelical bubble with a Free Kent Hovind movement forming. The Hovindicators, as I dubbed them, got all the way to Alex Jones, but never quite made it to Fox.
Kent was convicted on one of the charges, being saved from the others by jury nullification. That charge was dismissed, so he was free in 2015.
:snippity:
Ms. Tocco told me that it was important that she be married in the eyes of God, but didn't care what the State of Alabama thought, which simplified getting divorced.
:snippity:
A smart woman getting involved with Kent Hovind might also reflect that his troubles came in part from his ministry being considered an alter ego and that his first wife ended up with a prison sentence.

Ms. Tocco having a lot more at stake than I did looked pretty intensely into the structure that was designed to keep the man who didn't think he did anything wrong the first couple of times from getting in trouble again. And more importantly not having his second wife sucked into the vortex as his first wife was.
Under the commitment of marriage, the husband takes a vow to care for and protect his wife, and to put her before anything else under God. I was not demanding extreme protection but refused to accept decisions that blatantly and foolishly welcomed risk, easy and valid attack, and the predictable demise of the life we were building together. The most disturbing aspect is that the problems I discovered were not accidental mistakes, nor were they impossible to correct. Instead, I had exposed and was demanding a complete revision of the planned, deliberate, voluntary way that Kent and his board are dedicated to operating DAL. Who was I to think I was going to persuade them all to change?

For all of the people who are just bursting with curiosity about why I left Kent Hovind, I will reduce it to one sentence. I decided I don’t want to play a lead role in the next debacle.
I've heard this bull before.

Dredging up Kent Hovind again, because he appears to be going back to Sovereign Citizen nuttery. Kent made an announcement at the beginning of this Thursday video. He wished his son Eric a happy birthday and then basically announced the trustees of the new DAL were going after the properties Eric's non-profit, GodQuest, owns.

Those properties, you might recall, were seized by the government after Kent's criminal trial to satisfy a money judgment rendered against Kent as part of the structuring convictions. Kent contested that, and at one point Judge Rodgers had to decide who owned what properties. She determined there was never a trust on the properties but that Eric had legitimately bought his house. The government was allowed to seize and sell the properties. Many of them were bought up by GodQuest.

Delusional Kent and his equally delusional sidekick John Paul Hansen are now going to convene a "common law court" to get these properties back. Some clever follower of Kent's shenanigans found the website and I downloaded the pdf letter and Word document from what is purported to be Paul Hansen's Dropbox account.

As you can see, this is just a Sovereign Citizen pipe dream. I suspect Eric's just been round filing this stuff and I don't blame him.

Enjoy the crazy!

Hovind is first last and foremost a hypocrite. It sounds like a really dull and unimaginative kiddy ride. Just Kent showing his contempt for his followers intelligence as well as his general contempt for everyone else. I don't think this will turn out too well for him, Eric at least has real lawyers and has generally tried to stay above board. Something totally unfamiliar to Kent.

Plutodog here. Been out of the loop, in other loops (athiesm, skepticism, etc.). Health has taken a downturn, just got out of six days hospital, on oxygen, steroids, etc. Granddaughter is 14 months and a complete joy. All that can come under Plutodog's Tail. Have another year and two months or so to retirement. That's background before this latest apparent push by the Hovind-Hansen-Byrum criminal hi-jinks came out.

Wanna puke, time to re-gurgitate the facts that shows the lying basis of these clowns.
