Waiting to hear an update from my neighbor. She got scheduled for yesterday herself and an elder neighbor. (oddly, they separately had to go to two different suburbs even though she scheduled online at the same time for both).

I'll call for the morning coffee meetup in a few hours and find out how it went.
Friend had very minor localized pain at the injection site but no other side effects. I have not checked-in with the other neighbor who went with her.
Susan and neighbor Bill are both doing well after their first stab. (age 58 and 68).

My twin and I each received our second vaccinations last Thursday. Hers was Moderna, mine was Pfizer. She slept all day Friday, was weak on Saturday and had intermittent hours of weakness on Sunday. I slept most of Friday and otherwise couldn't tell if my aches, pains and weakness were from fibromyalgia, IBS, vasovagal syncope, pre-migraine, post-migraine, mild migraine, or just old age. Just saying......

Well, Day 2 isn't going well. Unfortunately, work demands & deadlines make me keep going. The arm pain has extended to the upper arm, shoulder, and neck. Tired, headache. Moving my computer & work files to my bed so I can get something done.

We got our first dose of Pfizer this afternoon at CVS on Lincoln Road in Miami! It went smoothly, they were very nice and we got through early. It's sad we were happy to get new plastic 7-day medicine holders as a gift  They also give a 20% discount coupon for the store good until end of July. A bit sore and achy but no fever yet and from what I've read, we were lucky. We treated ourselves to Chinese food and Ice Cream, wasn't letting the opportunity get away!

Correction to previous post -- the doctor there said that the CVS reset time is MIDNIGHT. So call CVS at midnight to try getting an appointment time. She also thought we might be able to get the second dose more nearby, they are doubling the number of pharmacies that will get vaccine and getting more supply in Florida.

It's such a relief to have this first shot -- thankfully my parents are both already vaccinated. Have been really, really careful about going out or having company... now we'll be a bit more willing. Thank you President Biden & the Administration... after a long, rough year, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Hope everyone can get their soon and Lani and all, you're in prayers for the side effects to be as low as possible. My Dad (who was in medicine) texted that a fever shows our bodies are making antibodies, and strongly suggested not taking any fever reducers because the body needs to do that.

Bonus: Here we go with these idiots.
Man fired after TikToker exposes his plan to sell fake vaccine cards
'Now James, do you really think it’s smart to advertise that you not only forged medical documents but also have the intent to distribute them?'
Mar 30, 2021, 9:24 pm* IRL Samira Sadeque

A Florida man was reportedly terminated from his job after a TikToker put him on blast for his video in which he advertises “selling blank Covid Vaccine cards.” TikTok user @rx0rcist, who Axios identified as Savannah Malm, shared a video exposing a man, who Axios also identified as James Koncar. Koncar’s TikTok account, under the handle @tamparockout17, was not available on Tuesday evening when the Daily Dot ran a search for it.
Koncar’s video, in which he detailed his plan to sell fake vaccine cards, was also unavailable. However, according to the snippets shown in Malm’s video, it appears he is an anti-masker.

“Selling blank Covid Vaccine Cards. DM me,” he wrote in the video. “F*ck masks.”

He included the hashtags #snowflake, #republican, and #conservative.

Malm’s video features screenshots of Koncar’s video, his TikTok account, and his LinkedIn account, which was also unavailable on Tuesday evening.

“Now James, do you really think it’s smart to advertise that you not only forged medical documents but also have the intent to distribute them?” Malm asks in the video.

Then, she shared a screenshot of Koncar’s LinkedIn account, which says he is an internet marketing and medical specialist at thirteen05 Creative.

“Did you not learn how to not commit multiple felonies and then put it on the internet as an internet marketing specialist at thirteen05?” she asks, pointing to his employer.

She then points to a video he reportedly posted earlier in which he referred to a Black woman doing spoken word poetry as “another dumb bitch who turns her comments off.”

Malm told Axios she took her TikTok video down at the request of thirteen05 Creative. Her video, however, was shared by author Mikki Kendall on Twitter, where it has been viewed more than 200,000 times.

The video was posted to Twitter on Friday. On the same day, the company thirteen05 Creative tweeted that the “employee” was suspended and that there’s an ongoing investigation into the allegations.

Less than 30 minutes later, the company announced “this employee has been terminated as we have concluded a swift review of his actions.”

A day later, the company revealed that it is looking to “immediately” hire an SEO specialist in the Tampa area.

Some are shocked that Koncar thought he could post something of that nature to TikTok without thinking he would face repercussions. But most are cheering Malm on for this and her past work of exposing people, including the pharmacist who is accused of intentionally destroying 570 vaccine doses in December.

My daughter and son-in-law, in their 40s, got their first doses yesterday. They got an email from their school's PTA that a pharmacy in the area had thousands of vaccines that had to be distributed that day. We had the kids, and it was close to their house, so they decided to give it a try. I had seen it on the news at noon earlier that day, but they seemed to be doing mostly college students from Pitt and CMU, but they opened it up later in the day to anyone. It was a walk-in basis. They had to wait in line for three and a half hours, but they decided to stay at it, and they managed to get some of the last shots. They got the Moderna, and will go back in four weeks.

The pharmacy doing this has been one of the best places to get the vaccine and one of the first in the area to get the vaccine and distribute it.

The vaccine is open to basically everyone in the state on April 19. It got off to a slow start, but it's finally fairly easy to access the vaccine here.

Such good news, so happy hearing everybody who has been lucky enough to get a shot. Listened to Congressman Ted Deutch's town hall tonight, he had Dr. Rachel Levine on as a guest. She said supply will increase a ton soon... so if you haven't been able to get an appointment yet, it should be opening up soon.

One of my collegues is conflusterated with the process of getting an appointment in Oregon. He doesn't want to go downtown through the Civic Center. He would prefer to go to Fred Meyers just down the road from his house, but has not successfully navigated their website. He's been quite vocal about the virus being a scam. Now he wants a jab, and is disappointed it isn't as easy as MacDonalds. :schadenfreud:

Why does he want the vaccine if he thinks the virus is a scam? :?

Received 1st dose of Pfizer yesterday at the Century Link Field Event Center.
My wife is the one who really needs the vaccine. She had an AVM in her brain stem about 15 years ago that was successfully treated with radiation therapy at Stanford. The Stanford people have told her that AVM survivors have a very low survival rate if they contract COVID.
She is trying to get the JNJ vaccine because she has an over-responsive immune system (she may have had some reaction to MY getting the vaccine), but very little of that vaccine came into King County. Now, with the JNJ manufacturing issue, who knows when she will be able to get one.

I kind-of sympathize with your colleague: the frustration with scheduling an appointment, not the virus as scam thing. I was so frustrated when I tried to schedule an appointment the day my age tier opened up that I gave up. However, I did put my name on several lists which was time consuming since I had to provide basic contact information using inadequate online systems. Four days later I tried again and scheduled an early morning appointment at a Walmart a week out. Two hours later one of the lists told me I was scheduled for an appointment two days out for Pfizer. I cancelled the Walmart appt.

I am now getting notifications from other providers but there is no automated way to tell them that I am already in the process with another provider. Two more days until my second jab.

This is huge because I can now book a trip to see my grandkids! My son and daughter-in-law got their first doses a week or so ago and will receive their second dose well before I arrive. Because they live in another state and how I planned my visit, I last visited in October 2019. I will be there for my granddaughter's 16th birthday!!
