Trump coughs up everything but the victims get 80%-90% of what they paid? So does the 10%-20% go to the state attorneys general who brought the two cases? I doubt that. So do you know where the rest of the money is?
I think there were some private lawyers involved. That plus court costs could add up.

I think the victims shouldn't get 100% of their fees back, because they have learned a very valuable lesson: don't get involved with any Trump-branded business unless you don't care about being cheated.

They clearly needed that lesson; it's right that they should pay for it.

Not all Americans follow Trump as we do. Those who were cheated by this scam probably include many who have no idea of Trump’s history.

:nope: And did they not learn a lesson too?

I was, of course, being mildly facetious in suggesting less-than-full restitution (the wasted time and worry are also an issue). But it is nevertheless important that all people understand that they should attempt some sort of due diligence investigation before parting with large amounts of money.

However, when compared against the level of stupid chronicled on other Fogbow pages (the sovcits, the birthers, miscellaneous ne'er-do-wells), I agree that being caught up by the Trump University scam is far from the worst.

I've heard more than one state that since Trump could make all his money on his own, he must be a very successful businessman and good presidential material. Know Trump's history? Yeah, they do. Not.

ERIC TRUMP VOWS TO FIGHT RESIDENTS WHO WANT TO STRIP 'VISIONARY' FATHER'S NAME FROM NEW YORK CONDO

Residents of Upper West Side apartment block 200 Riverside Blvd. voted in February 2017 to remove the name "Trump" from the building.

However the "Trump Place" sign has remained over the building's entrance after the Trump Organization, once headed by President Donald Trump and now managed by his sons, threatened to sue.

Resident have fought back, filing a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court in January asking a judge to rule on the question of whether they have the right to remove the name. A court hearing in the case is scheduled for Tuesday, reported the New York Daily News.

In a statement to a Washington Post reporter ahead of the hearing, Eric Trump said his father had “created an incredibly vibrant neighborhood” on the Upper West Side that “set new standards of residential luxury.”

Trump's longtime driver sues for thousands of hours of unpaid overtime

President Trump's longtime driver has filed a lawsuit claiming he was subjected to years of unpaid overtime work, according to multiple reports.

Noel Cintron, Trump's driver for more than 20 years, filed the suit against the Trump Organization in the Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the New York Daily News.

"In an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement and without even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige President Donald Trump has, through the defendant entities, exploited and denied significant wages to his own longstanding personal driver," Cintron alleges in the complaint.

Cintron claims that he was forced to work "thousands" of hours in overtime, and was not given a "meaningful raise" in over 10 years.

Canoe Group Sues Over Potomac River Shutdown For Trump's Golfing

An association of canoers and kayakers has filed a lawsuit charging that the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard are illegally barring access to a major stretch of the Potomac River for President Donald Trump’s frequent golf outings in Virginia.

In a break with tradition from protocol for other presidents, DHS over a year ago imposed a “permanent security zone” that bars the public’s right to use a popular two-mile stretch of the Potomac River from shore to shore along the Trump National Golf Club in Loudoun County whenever Trump decides to travel there to golf.

For other presidents, usually only temporary and very limited restrictions had been imposed on areas accessible to the public.

The DHS “capriciously” imposed the unnecessarily “overbroad” security zone without legally mandated public notice and without an opportunity for the public to comment before it was approved, states the lawsuit, which was filed Thursday in Maryland District Court by Democracy Forward on behalf of the nonprofit Canoe Cruisers Association of Greater Washington.
