This is exactly the kind of candidate everyone's been saying the Dems need (hi, Tolland! )
He's your typical white midwestern working class guy.

Randy Bryce for Congress
Randy Bryce is a union iron worker, a U.S. Army veteran, and a badass with an awesome mustache that serves as the namesake of his Twitter account: @IronStache.
"Let's trade places. Paul Ryan, you can come work the iron and I'll go to D.C."
Watch the ad. You'll agree with me. And maybe then, you could donate to his campaign.

Dem who launched bid against Paul Ryan raises 100k in first day of campaign
Democrat Randy Bryce, who's challenging House Speaker Paul Ryan (R) for his Wisconsin seat, raised more than $100,000 in just over 24 hours after declaring his candidacy, he said Tuesday.
:snippity:
Bryce told The Wall Street Journal earlier this month that he would seek to tie Ryan to Trump and planned to emphasize the Republicans' effort to repeal large parts of the Affordable Care Act.

I found him through links on the Twitter thing. I'm very impressed and excited, especially if a several more like him show up to remove a few Republicans. Run Randy, run!!!!!!

I saw him in an interview with Lawrence O'Donnell last night. He's pretty smart and well spoken (despite at least one grammatical error in his ad, but I thought it made him more of an "every guy.")

Apparently, David Yankovich was the first to challenge for Ryan's seat in 2018.

Recently, he travelled to join in with Sanders supporters. Big tent and all that. He was mistaken.

Getting a lot of questions about this today. Yes, it actually happened.

I don't want to go to war with revolution, I want a strong 2018.
Click on link for the story about what happened to him. Short version: He was thrown out because he voted for Clinton in the general.

You know your country is in trouble when it's citizens decide that Twitter is a good place to hash things out and figure out what is going on. Good grief. Substituting social media for news is why we have Trump.

This should help the "Iron Stache":
Nicholas Kitchel@nicholaskitchel

At the New York Times TimesTalk with @SpeakerRyan, he wasn't able to answer a very simple question:

"What's the minimum wage in Wisconsin?"

Paul Ryan faces a hard-hat-wearing, Latino Democratic challenger
Randy Bryce, who’s lived in southeastern Wisconsin his whole life, is running as a blue-collar populist who would be a voice for the state’s workers in Washington. In the viral ad that launched his candidacy in June, he challenged the speaker while wearing a hard hat: “Let’s trade places, Paul Ryan— you can come work the iron, and I’ll go to D.C.”

Since then, Bryce’s candidacy has attracted momentum among Democrats hungry for a win that would pack a serious symbolic punch. Swing Left, the grassroots group attempting to flip vulnerable Republican districts, added Ryan’s district to its list of targets, which was announced last week on the Pod Save America podcast popular among liberals. Bryce raised more than $1.5 million since June, most in small-dollar contributions, and also picked up the endorsement of Latino Victory Fund, a political action committee focused on electing Latinos.

The president of Latino Victory, Cristobal Alex, also said he believes the district’s small but growing Latino population could be mobilized in support of Bryce, who supports immigration reform and whose father is of Mexican descent. “We think the race will be close enough where several thousand Latinos voting for their champion could flip the district,” Alex said.

...Bryce appeared in a mud-spattered denim shirt and hardhat in his first ad, and stressed in our interview that he knows what’s it’s like to struggle to pay the bills. “It’s about knowing, understanding the daily trials of being a working person, raising a son and being a couple of paychecks away from being out on the street,” he said.

I agree Ryan has to be challenged, but he'll still crush this guy 75% to 25%.

Associated Press
Democrats back Randy Bryce in primary to challenge Paul Ryan

National Democrats are backing ironworker Randy Bryce in a Wisconsin congressional primary battle for the right to challenge Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan in the November midterm elections.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee selected Bryce over educator Cathy Myers. The committee named Bryce to its list of 33 best prospects for flipping a Republican district.

Democrats need to flip 24 GOP-held seats to regain a House majority.

Bryce and Myers both come from the party's liberal base. But Bryce already has picked up many endorsements, including from independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Both candidates call for universal health care, and each was arrested recently while protesting GOP immigration policy outside one of Ryan's district offices.

If I just plain merged them, Deja Moo's title would win because it was first. But using my secret powers, I can merge them AND give them Addie's title. This is the expert stuff, don't try this at home!
