Mueller is trying so hard to be careful that he's stumbling and looking like a confused old man.

I hope he gets better.
Would it shock anyone if his family were somewhere playing pinochle until he finishes his testimony? They're happy. Their captors are letting them win. (For those of you who don't get the reference, go watch The Godfather.)

Also John Ratcliffe (R-TX) looks like a massive dick beating up on a doddering old law professor. He reminds me of every self-involved, histrionic, raging asshole prosecutor with whom I have ever crossed swords.

The first several Democrats questioning Mueller look like they have coordinated among themselves and are loaded for bear. In fact, it looks like all of their questions have been written by one person for them. Very little prefatory commentary and machine gun questions.

In the same way Mueller is not looking very good, the Democrats on the committee are distinguishing themselves. The incendiary and histrionic comments are not, however, beneath the Republicans, one of whom called the Democrats on the committee "socialists."

It got way better. IMO Mueller and the Dems are killing it.

Now wait for MSM to tell its viewers* that voters are so hardened by bipartisanship that no minds will be changed. Whereupon the viewers will conclude that nothing was said to change their minds, and they therefore will not do so.

*Not talking about MAGA fools, here, who will only glom onto the crap the R's on the committee are saying. MAGA fools, as we know, are not interested in objective truth.

And now up comes Jim Sensenbrenner of my home state, also known as one of the House "Managers" who led the charge to impeach Bill Clinton for...obstruction of justice.
Edit: OMG he just accused Mueller of "fishing." Dude, you were, like, madly in love with Ken Starr back in the day when his investigation went from Whitewater to a bimbo explosion to blowjobs in the Oval Office. WTF?

I read a tweet from Meadows last night making fun of the democrats coordinating and practicing their lines of questioning like they were in a "school play."

To me he looked like someone trying and failing to avoid saying "Yes, 45 committed obstruction of justice." Yes, he looks old and tired, but the stumbling was on specific, carefully crafted questions. For me, at least, the connection between the stumbling and the question was clear. I like it that he stumbled where he did. Of course I'm biased.

We'll see as the day goes on if the stumbles over the easy ones.

@replouiegohmert
goes in hard on trying to portray Mueller as a bad guy because, among other things, he was friends with Comey

Jeffries: "An obstructive act could include taking an action that would delay or interfere with an ongoing investigation."

Mueller: "That's true."

More
Richmond: "The president's attempt to get McGahn to create a false written record were related to Mr. Trump's concerns about your obstruction of justice inquiry, correct?"

Mueller: "I believe that to be true."

More
Richmond: "So it's fair to say the president tried to protect himself by asking staff to falsify records relevant to an ongoing investigation?"

Mueller: "I would say that's generally the summary."

Remember:

Just before the hearing, the DOJ specifically prohibited Mueller from testifying about the very topics that GOP rep after GOP rep keep skewering Mueller for not testifying about.

And right on cue Frank Figliuzzi, former assistant director for counter-intelligance, FBI, tells his MSNBC audience that nothing Mueller or the Dems have presented will change any minds.

Thanks, Frank.

"Mr. Mueller, did you write Part II of your Report, in part, so that Congress could consider impeaching and trying President Trump?"

Can someone please ask that?

Swallwell yielded most of his time to Ted Lieu, who imo did well, and Ted gets his own time later.

I didn't have expectations otherwise, but still so jarring to see no Republican show even an iota of curiosity about a foreign attack on our elections, the president's welcoming it, and his attempts to interfere with a proper investigation.

As Rep. Jordan expresses his frustration with the Mueller investigation, Jordan also (whether intentionally or not) contradicts the long-running conspiracy theory that the Steele Dossier started the Russia investigation

I know TheHill.com sensationalizes most of the time, but.

TheHill.com: Sarah Huckabee Sanders claims Mueller testimony 'once again vindicates' Trump
Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed Wednesday that Robert Mueller's testimony vindicated President Trump, even as the former special counsel testified that his investigation did not exonerate the president.

Sanders tweeted a clip originally shared by the Trump campaign in which Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Ga.) asked Mueller if he could think of another instance where the Justice Department "determined that an investigated person was not exonerated because their innocence was not conclusively determined," seeking to undermine Mueller's testimony that he did not exculpate Trump on obstruction of justice charges.

"I cannot, but this is a unique situation," Mueller responded.

Sanders claimed that Mueller in his testimony "all but admits it was all along a total witch hunt."

"Didn’t take long for Mueller to once again vindicate President @realDonaldTrump. No collusion. No obstruction," she tweeted.

And now the campaign team is begging for money.
Just into my phone. text:
Pres. Trump: There was NO COLLUSION! Let's tell the Dems to end this WITCH HUNT by raising $2,000,000 in 24 HOURS! Contribute NOW: https://secure.donaldjtrump.com/witch-hunt-statement

You all should be prepared for disappointment. Mueller isn't going to say anything that's not in the report. He's so professional he'll let the country burn rather than violate his professional ethics.
I've heard this bull before.
