The Republicans are performing with one goal in mind and one goal only - to avoid primary challenges.

Is it my bias or are the republicans just being gigantic assholes? I do not think this is actually going to help their hero. It’s obnoxious.
Not just you. I see it too.

:yeah:

Also, I would give quite a lot for an opportunity to punch Jim Jordan in the face. And tell him to put his fucking jacket on, because the "I'm just folksy like you" routine isn't working with anyone.

The arrogance of these republicans is breathtaking, even to someone like me who reflexively despises them.

Did Rep Gozar even ask a question? It sounded like he was just badgering the witness and yelling at him. Oh and not saying the word Pathological correctly.

I liked Cohen's statement that he regretted working for twitler now and at some point those in the Congress who are protecting him will also regret it.

That's the fellow whose family asked folks not to vote for him.

Does this mean that Donald Trump Jr. authorized Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg to make the payment from the trust?

That would make him “Executive-2” in the charges against Cohen. Executive-2 may have significant federal and state criminal liability.
I notice the checks are drawn on the same bank, fairly low check numbers. Thoughts?

Those are computer run checks. Someone has to be processing the accounts payables and running checks and someone has to give the person processing the checks an invoice or a check request or similar, that would be a lot more telling than a note on the check. Can the committee request the *invoice* and reports from the payables software to shed some light on it? Also curious how the checks were *booked*. The AP software I've worked with requires a general ledger account so when the checks are cut there's that debit and credit thing going on.

Lanny Davis has done a masterful job prepping Cohen, something that should surprise no one. The Republicans are losing their composure, and Cohen is holding his own fairly well.

I'm deeply concerned that Mark Meadows might have a coronary before this hearing is over. :violin:

I loved the moment when Cohen pointed out he came to answer questions about Trump and why are the Republican side spending all their time pointing out his multiple crimes, when he's already owned to them and faces years in prison for them.

Cohen just confirmed that he’s passed on information of additional (read: not public) illegality to SDNY and/or Mueller.
