Doesn't the House have some say in the matter too?

If the gov shuts down again Feb 15, I guess the air traffic controllers know what to do. Stay home Feb 16.

I think the implication is that the bill to be passed by the Senate is the recent one already passed by the House.

Anyone know what it says about Wall/Border Security?

You got to figure that sooner or later the Turtle is going to get tired of letting Donald stuff both their dicks toadstools in the pencil sharpener. Right?

Well you know how well previous shutdowns have worked. Some people never learn.

Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.

I foresee a highly conditional suggestion for a post-Feb. 15 SOTU.

I couldn't bring myself to start.

Has he gotten to the actual CR yet?
I didn't hear any real details. But he said he would instruct McConnell to bring the bill to vote as soon as possible and he would sign it. He didn't mention anything about the house, so that implies that he's telling senate republicans to pass the bill that the house already passed. Also known as: capitulation.
This just shows how little Trump understands the Constitution. The president can't INSTRUCT the Senate to do anything. He may ASK McConnell to bring the bill to a vote, but he doesn't get to instruct him.

It also shows how subservient McConnell is to this president.
To be fair, he didn't use the word "instruct", but that's in essence what he's doing.
Off Topic
By the way: I've queued up the video below at 48:55. It sounds like he's slurring words again. The word "lawmakers" becomes "lawmerkerzh". weird.

Pelosi would be wise to schedule the SOTU address after 2/15. ;)

Trump caves on shutdown, agrees to temporarily reopen government without wall funding

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2019 ... nding.html
On Thursday, Donald Trump tweeted, “We will not cave!” On Friday, Trump caved.

Conceding at least short-term defeat over the shutdown he initiated, the U.S. president announced in a speech on Friday that he had come to an agreement with Democrats to sign a bill to fund the U.S. federal government for three weeks, until Feb. 15, without getting any funding for a wall on the Mexican border.

If he keeps his word, his climbdown will end the 35-day-old shutdown he launched to try to pressure Democrats into agreeing to pay for the wall he had claimed Mexico would fund. The shutdown has forced 800,000 federal workers to go without pay, stopped hundreds of government activities, slowed the economy and air travel, and done serious damage to Trump’s popularity.

The president’s move will not mean the permanent end to the fight over the wall. Trump threatened Friday to shut down the government again after Feb. 15, or to declare a national emergency and seize government funds for the wall, if Congress did not use the three-week reprieve to work out a “fair” deal.

Janitors, security guards, food service employees and millions of other contract workers who keep our government functioning will not be reimbursed for paychecks missed during this shutdown. Every single one of them should receive back pay. Period.

The man held the country hostage for over a month, costing millions of American families (when you count feds + contractors + others impacted down the line) their savings, credit and overall wellness/peace. For a political stunt that achieved absolutely nothing. Y'all...just, wow

The Democrats must read whatever bill McConnell brings to the Senate very very carefully.

Well, damn. I was hoping the "shutdown" continued through the Super Bowl, with all the ATCs and flight attendants staying home.

There is nothing too petty for to me to wish to befall the Super Bowl.
