He's 78, been through 2 bypass surgeries and has 7 stents. Elderly Vet Arrested for Threatening to Kill ObamaUpdated: 8 minutes agoLauren Frayer ContributorAOL NewsMichael Stephen Bowden, who now lives in South Carolina, told a nurse during a routine medical exam at a Veterans Administration clinic on Nov. 16 that he "was thinking of traveling to Washington, D.C., to shoot the president because he was not doing enough to help African-Americans," according to an affidavit filed in the case. He also said he wanted to kill himself. He's a white guy.He admitted that he'd told the nurse that if he could kill anyone, "I would kill, if possible, the president for what he has done to this country," the affidavit said.Bowden then welcomed Secret Service agents into the home he shares with his wife and son. Inside, they found a cache of weapons -- three loaded semiautomatic handguns and a semiautomatic rifle near Bowden's bed, as well as a loaded short-barrel shotgun near the front door. In his son's bedroom, they found nine rifles, two shotguns and a handgun."All of the weapons were fully loaded, with rounds in the firing chamber and spare ammunition in close proximity," the affidavit said. It's unclear whether any of the guns were legal. Bowden was arrested that day and charged with threats against the president.[/break1]aolnews.com/nation/article/elderly-veteran-michael-stephen-bowden-arrested-for-threatening-to-kill-barack-obama/19734117]http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/e ... a/19734117His daughter is saying he's not a threat due to his age and physical condition. Uzbek accused of buying machine gun in Ala. to kill Obama

A 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Uzbekistan was charged today with threatening the life of President Obama after purchasing a machine gun from an undercover federal agent in Alabama.

Ulugbek Kodoriov, whose 2009 student visa was revoked last year, allegedly outlined his plan to an FBI informant beginning July 9, according to court documents. In subsequent meetings with the informant, Kodoriov expressed interest in assassination plots that included using explosives and "shooting the president from long distance,'' the court documents stated.

While living at a Birmingham motel, Kodoriov allegedly expressed support for Islamic extremists and told the informant that he "did not care if he lost his life killing the president.''

Secret Service apprehends White House fence jumper

WASHINGTON (AP) — An unidentified man was in Secret Service custody Tuesday night after he climbed over the White House fence.

Spokesman Ed Donovan said the man was immediately taken into custody by Secret Service agents who guard the complex around the clock. The man had a backpack that Donovan said was being examined for possible explosive material.

A CNN news crew caught some of the drama on tape as it unfolded. Video showed agents leading the man, as they held his hands behind his back, across the North Lawn on the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the White House, where tourists gather to take photographs.

LOL! Stupid pilot gave Santa Cruz quite a show.Military jet escorts biplane back to Watsonville airport; local pilot violated restricted airspace for Obama visit to LinkedInA local pilot got a military escort back to Watsonville Municipal Airport this morning when he mistakenly flew in a temporary no-fly zone triggered by President Obama's Bay Area visit.Several locals have reported seeing a strange sight over Monterey Bay: a fighter jet circling a much-smaller biplane. After the brief aerial exhibition, the Stearman biplane headed back to Watsonville, where it landed safely. The pilot apparently flew into a temporary flight-restricted area associated with Obama's Bay Area fundraising trip and visit to the social networking company LinkedIn. The no-fly zone expires at 1:30 p.m.Airport interim manager Rayvon Williams said the airport tried to make pilots aware of the restrictions. Secret Service didn't consider this a credible threat."CLOSED - NOT HIRING until after this corrupt treasonous government and Obama is DEAD," read the sign shown in a photo provided by the Patagonia Marshal's Office.Marshal Joe Patterson said someone took the sign down shortly after one of his officers photographed it at a residence east of town. Patterson said he had in turn sent those photographs to the Secret Service. On the morning of Dec. 7, two Secret Service agents along with officers from the Marshal's Office descended on the residence."I wasn't sure what to expect," said Patterson, noting that he had had previous run-ins with the tenant of the home, including an incident during a wildfire in June when he came across the man sitting on the side of the road with an SKS semi-automatic rifle, allegedly looking for arsonists.[/break1]nogalesinternational.com/news/sign-earns-man-a-visit-from-secret-service/article_2f44c9b4-27fe-11e1-9bdd-0019bb2963f4.html]http://www.nogalesinternational.com/new ... 963f4.htmlhttp://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/nogalesinternational.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/2/da/2da41ed4-27fe-11e1-9fcb-0019bb2963f4/4eeb699beee47.preview-300.jpgETA: I believe this is in Bob Campbell's neck of the woods.

Not about the President, but SS protection of Valerie Jarrett and others.

Secret Service: Obama has fewer protectees than Bush

White House Dossier's Keith Koffler [/break1]whitehousedossier.com/2012/01/17/valerie-jarrett-secret-service-detail/]flags a report noting that White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett has Secret Service protection — something that Jon Ward also reported in the [/break1]com/2010/05/11/top-obama-advisers-jarrett-and-axelrod-given-car-privileges-traditionally-reserved-for-national-security-officials/]Daily Caller in 2010. While it's not at all common for a White House staffer to get such protection, it's also not unprecedented if there are specific threats or security concerns.

The Secret Service declined to comment specifically on why Jarrett was given protection, but Service spokesman Ed Donovan told POLITICO that “there are fewer of those protectees right now than during the last administration.”

"In addition to the people we’re statutorily ordered to protect, others get protections in a process that goes from the White House through DHS," Donovan said. Such decisions come “after protective threat assessment is conducted."

Man indicted for attempting to kill Barack Obama

An Idaho man was indicted Tuesday for attempting to assassinate President Barack Obama by opening fire on the White House last November.

A grand jury at U.S. District Court in Washington also charged Oscar Ortega-Hernandez, 21, with a total of 17 counts of violations of federal and District of Columbia law, including three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, various firearms offenses, and causing more than $1,000 in damage to federal property—apparently for firing bullets that broke a White House window and left the southern exterior of the building pock-marked. The indictment is posted here. …

Ortega-Hernandez was arrested a few days later at a hotel in western Pennsylvania. He has been held in custody since and was charged in a complaint the following day with attempting to assassinate Obama. Ortega-Hernandez faces a potential sentence of up to life in prison.

According to prior court filings, associates said Ortega-Hernandez considered Obama the “anti-Christ” and set out for Washington this fall to take some action to address what he viewed as the threat posed by Obama. …

All defendants charged with felony offenses in the federal system are entitled to have their cases presented to a grand jury which considers whether probable cause exists to bring formal charges.

Atlanta Jewish Times apologizes for Obama assassination scenario

January 20, 2012

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- The owner of the Atlanta Jewish Times apologized for an opinion column in which he counted President Obama's assassination as among Israel's options in heading off a nuclear Iran.

"I very much regret it, I wish I hadn't made reference to it at all," Andrew Adler told JTA on Friday.

He said he would publish an apology in his next edition, and that reaction from readers had been overwhelmingly negative.

In a Jan. 13 column, Adler, who is also the paper's publisher, outlined what he said were three possible responses by Israel to Iran's acquiring a nuclear weapon: A preemptive strike against Hamas and Hezbollah, terrorist groups that he said would be emboldened by a nuclear Iran; a direct strike on Iran; and "three, give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies."

He continued: "Yes you read 'three' correctly. Order a hit on a president in order to preserve Israel's existence. Think about it. If I have thought of this Tom Clancy-type scenario, don't you think that this almost unfathomable idea has been discussed in Israel's most inner circles?"

ATLANTA, Jan. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AJC today expressed its total revulsion that Andrew Adler, the owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, called for the assassination of President Obama in a recent column in the paper.

He has since apologized, according to news reports, and promised to publish a retraction.

"The suggestion by anyone, in this case a Jewish newspaper publisher, that Israel should consider assassinating President Obama is shocking beyond belief," said Dov Wilker, director of AJC Atlanta.

"While we acknowledge Mr. Adler's apology, we are flabbergasted that he could ever say such a thing in the first place. How could he even conceive of such a twisted idea?" said Wilker. "Mr. Adler surely owes immediate apologies to President Obama, as well as to the State of Israel and his readership, the Atlanta Jewish community."The Atlantic Wire [link]What on Earth Would Prompt a Newspaper Editor to Call for Obama's Assassination?,http://news.yahoo.com/earth-prompt-news ... 02814.html[/link]

It's unclear if he was being satirical or just insensitive, but Atlanta Jewish Times owner and publisher Andrew Adler more or less called for President Obama's assassination in his column last week. Gawker's investigative hawk [link]John Cook blogged about the column on Friday,http://gawker.com/5877892/[/link], prompting a collective facepalm on Twitter. What in the world was this newspaperman thinking when he wrote this? "Maybe it's meant as parody, I don't know," The Atlantic's Jeff Goldberg wondered, after admitting that he'd first heard of Adler's paper on Friday afternoon. "Not that the Atlanta Jewish Times is known for parody. Or anything." Cook notes that the Atlanta Jewish Times "appears to be a real community newspaper" with "a circulation of 3,500 and a staff of five."

Such a scenario would not play out well for Israel at all and is one of the few things that could leave Israel alone in the world without an ally.

This causes me to suspect this loathsome little toad exposed a fantasy that he harbors secretly, attempted to pass off as a speculation about the State of Israel, and that he has now exposed himself to any sane people in his audience as the disgusting freak he is. I hope his career is over, although a worm like this certainly has some sort of career in the weird sewer of WND and similar sources of contaminated, diseased offal.

It's a creeping outcome of the reality-impaired, RWNJ-controlled media. Now that the first one has reared it's ugly head to be soundly slammed down, look for more to pop up. The shock value is over, the RWNJ sites are even now saying "What? What did he say that was so wrong? It's what we're all thinking, anyway."Sometimes, I really hate Southerners.

Haaretz (blog) Jan. 21 2012 [link]"Jewish publisher is an idiot - but his hatred is shared by many",http://www.haaretz.com/blogs/west-of-ed ... y-1.408466[/link] by Chemi Shalev

There is something eerily familiar in all this, of course, for anyone who was present 16 years ago at Tel Aviv’s Kikar Malchei Yisrael, as it was then known, on the night that Yitzhak Rabin was murdered. One can already envisage how Adler will be disowned, described as a “wild weed,” depicted as a lone wolf who does not represent anyone in his or in anyone else’s community and used as a springboard for a righteously indignant, preemptive counteroffensive that will show how his solitary case is being exploited to score points against anyone who legitimately criticizes Obama.

And while we might all stipulate that there is no Jew anywhere in the world who is currently contemplating any act of violence against President Obama, I know, and most of you know, that Adler’s crazy and criminal suggestions are not the ranting of some loony-tune individual and were not taken out of thin air - but are the inevitable result of the inordinate volume of repugnant venom that some of Obama’s political rivals, Jews and non-Jews included, have been spewing for the last three years.

Anyone who has spent any time talking to some of the more vociferous detractors of Obama, Jewish or otherwise, has inevitably encountered those nasty nutters, and they are many, who still believe he is a Muslim, who are utterly convinced that he wants to destroy Israel, and who seriously debate whether he is more like Ahmadinejad than Arafat or – and I heard this one with my own ears – more like Hitler than Haman.

...

And anyone who lived through the Israeli right-wing’s days of rage against Rabin and the Oslo Accords can never forget that this deluge of deadly toxins need trigger just one homicidal chemical reaction in just one fanatic brain for history to be changed forever.

Atlanta Jewish Times Publisher Resigns Over Obama Assassination Column

January 23, 2012

([/break1]jta.org/news/article/2012/01/23/3091312/atlanta-jewish-times-publisher-resigns-over-obama-assassination-column]JTA) -- The owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times has resigned and is seeking a buyer in the wake of a column he wrote speculating that Israel would consider assassinating President Obama.

Andrew Adler, in an email obtained by JTA, announced Monday that he is "relinquishing all day-to-day activities effective immediately" following the publishing of his opinion piece saying that Obama's assassination was among Israel's options in heading off a nuclear Iran.

Adler named staff writer John McCurdy as interim managing editor until a replacement can be found. Adler said he would publish an apology in his next edition and that reaction from readers had been overwhelmingly negative.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta said earlier Monday that it would suspend its relationship with the Atlanta Jewish Times until Adler removed himself from the newspaper's operations. The federation also called on Adler to sell the weekly.
