CNN: CNN Poll: 42% approve of Trump, highest in 11 months:
President Donald Trump's approval rating has rebounded to its highest level since the 100-day mark of his presidency, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, even as his approval ratings for handling major issues remain largely negative.

Overall, 42% approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency, 54% disapprove. Approval is up 7 points overall since February, including 6-point increases among Republicans (from 80% to 86% now) and independents (from 35% to 41% now). Trump's approval rating remains below that of all of his modern-era predecessors at this stage in their first term after being elected, though Trump only trails Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama by a narrow 4 points at this point in their first terms.

I wondered about it too, also. Was it the omnibus bill he signed?

My guess is the apparent bump has more to do with announcement of the North Korea summit than the Omnibus.

Poll: Trump approval drops to record low ...

Morning Consult's 50 state approval tracker finds 41 percent of registered voters approved of Trump's job performance during March.

A majority, 54 percent, disapproved of the president's job performance.

The data from March surpasses the president's previous lows in the Morning Consult poll. In October and November, 42 percent of respondents approved of Trump's job performance and 53 percent disapproved.

It is a small dip from his February numbers when 43 percent of respondents approved of the job he was doing in the White House and 52 percent disapproved.

Trump's approval ratings also dropped month-to-month in a number of states that supported him in the 2016 race, including a 9-percent drop in Iowa and a 6 point dip in Idaho and Tennessee.

Obama tops list of most admired people in US, beating Trump

Barack and Michelle Obama are the most admired people in the U.S., according to a YouGov survey of admired figures across the globe.

The former president and first lady also landed second place for the most admired people in the world.

President Trump was the second-most-admired man in the U.S., but only gained an admiration score of 10.7 percent compared to Obama’s 24 percent. Trump landed the 17th spot on the list of most admired men globally, behind figures like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Hillary Clinton was the fourth-most-admired woman in the U.S. and fifth-most-admired worldwide.

And while she failed to make it onto the international list, Melania Trump tied for the 9th-most-admired woman in the U.S. with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Bill Gates was the most admired man internationally, and Angelina Jolie was the most admired woman.

Donald Trump tops list of people admired by Donald Trump

Hektor
Fogbow Polling Analysis

(Washington, DC) Donald Trump and himself are two of the most admired people by the current President of the United States.

In a survey of one current American President, Donald Trump came out as a winner. With a admiration score of 1000 bajillion percent, Donald Trump was described as a "very stable genius" by the President. The President also had kind words for himself, referring to himself as fantastic, unbelievably wealthy and definitely not having tiny hands or anything else.

Topping out the list includes Eric and Ivanka's father, Jared's father-in-law and the person the Trump Taj Mahal is named after.

Post-ABC poll: Majority of Americans support Mueller’s probe of Russia, Trump campaign

A clear majority of Americans support special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and alleged collusion with President Trump’s campaign, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds.

The results show backing for inquiries into Trump’s orbit on several fronts.

Nearly 7 in 10 adults say they support Mueller’s focus on possible collusion with Russia. Sixty-four percent say they want the special counsel investigating Trump’s business activities. And a 58 percent majority supports investigating alleged payments by Trump associates to silence women who say they had affairs with him.

The poll was conducted Sunday to Wednesday, with interviews overlapping the FBI’s Monday raid of the home and office of Michael D. Cohen, Trump’s longtime attorney. Agents seized communications between Cohen and Trump, as well as records related to a 2016 payment Cohen made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump. The Cohen inquiry was opened by the Manhattan-based U.S. attorney’s office following a referral from Mueller. ...

Trump job approval slips 4 points to 39 percent in NBC poll

President Trump’s job approval rating slipped 4 points in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Thirty-nine percent of respondents now approve of the job the president is doing, compared to 57 percent who disapprove.Trump's support fell among Republicans, whites, men, independents, women and Democrats. Newsweek
Trump and White Evangelicals: Support for President Grows, But Millennials Leave Movement ...

But once Republicans nominated him, his favorability among white evangelicals jumped to 61 percent in September 2016. Once elected, Trump packed his cabinet with members of the political God squad, and made items on their agenda — anti-gay and anti-choice — a priority.

White evangelical Protestants have only grown more Trump-drunk since the election. In October 2017, 73 percent of white evangelicals supported Trump.

Now, according to a poll conducted in late March, after the Stormy Daniels story was widely discussed, support has risen to a record 75 percent. The new poll, to be released today by PRRI, also shows Trump has the lowest unfavorable ratings — 22 percent — among Evangelicals in any survey since PRRI first asked the Trump question in 2015.

Solid support for the President, however, comes as white evangelicals find themselves on the decline.

Large-scale polls conducted over the last ten years by PRRI indicate that white evangelicals as a percentage of Americans have been on a downward trend for at least a decade, as they steadily decline as a percent of the population. In 2006, they accounted for 23 percent of those surveyed, but as of 2017, they represented just 15.3 percent of the population.

Evangelicals’ fervent support of Trump is not universally shared by a crucial, and rapidly evaporating subset of the white Evangelicals — their children — who are leaving the faith in droves over its anti-LGBT and anti-science positions.

Only 35 percent of white evangelicals are under the age of 50, compared to 54 percent of the population, according to the PRRI. And they are bleeding youth: Only 8 percent of white evangelicals are under the age of 30, compared to 21 percent of the American population.

Large majority supports tougher Russia sanctions, Post-ABC poll finds

Nearly 7 in 10 Americans support tougher U.S. sanctions against Russia, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll that also finds roughly half the public saying President Trump has done “too little” to criticize Russia for alleged violations of international law.

Despite support for penalizing Russia, 52 percent of adults say Trump should invite Vladimir Putin to the White House in an effort to improve U.S.-Russia relations, while 42 percent say Trump should not do so, because it would grant Putin legitimacy.

The Post-ABC poll finds uncommonly broad support for tougher sanctions on Russia, with 74 percent of Democrats along with 68 percent of Republicans and independents favoring tougher penalties. A 66 percent majority of those who strongly approve of Trump back such measures, as do 73 percent of those who strongly disapprove of him. ...

The Post-ABC poll finds 49 percent saying Trump has done “too little” to criticize Russia for allegedly violating international law, 38 percent saying he’s handled the issue “about right” and 4 percent thinking that Trump has criticized Russia “too much.” The survey was conducted April 8-11, immediately after Syria's alleged chemical attack but before Trump launched retaliatory air strikes Friday.

Partisans are deeply divided on this question, with 70 percent of Democrats saying Trump has not criticized Russia enough, while 71 percent of Republicans say he has been about right. Independents are closer to Democrats, with 54 percent saying Trump has done too little.
