Trump has lots of money.

He is in lower Manhattan for lunch.

Many great restaurants there.

He is eating in a Wendy's.

T**** and his team had carry-out from McD's for lunch today. They ate in the courthouse. TMZ caught staffers on camera with 6 big bags (the bags with handles on them). So he got his BigMac and Fish Sandwich.

Dunno when the Wendy's thing was? Perhaps when he was in Iowa yesterday....

Trump ramps up violent rhetoric
NBC News’ analysis of all of the former president’s public remarks shows that his recent statements and social media posts have taken a dark and aggressive turn.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-e ... rcna118438
Former President Donald Trump is lashing out at political and legal foes in increasingly violent terms as his campaign to return to office accelerates.

In the past week, Trump suggested in an online post that Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, deserved to face the death penalty. In California, he called for shoplifters to be shot on sight. Criticizing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., during the same speech, he mockingly asked how Pelosi’s husband was doing, referring to the violent attack on Paul Pelosi last year during a home invasion by an assailant authorities say was steeped in Trump’s election conspiracy theories.

Trump also made a series of incendiary statements about New York Attorney General Letitia James ahead of and during the start Monday of his New York civil trial on charges of business fraud. Hours before he headed into court Monday morning, Trump called James “corrupt and racist,” “rogue” and “out of control.” And he posted criticism of the judge in the case, too, saying he should no longer sit on the bench.

They are the type of statements that could get another defendant held in contempt of court — and might see embarrassed former supporters back away from another presidential candidate. But many of Trump’s followers latch onto and celebrate his rhetoric — and even act on it, as the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and other violent incidents in recent years have shown.

The past week has been the busiest yet on Trump’s 2024 campaign schedule, which has hit both coasts, as well as first-in-the-nation Iowa and battleground Michigan. But the stepped-up campaign was marked more by the unruly and aggressive insults he hurled in campaign speeches and posts on social media with the first of many trials in the next year approaching.

The aggressive turn began a week ago on Truth Social, where Trump alluded to the execution of his former top military official.

Findlaw: Rioting and Inciting to Riot
Protected Speech Versus Incitement
Citizens have a right to free speech pursuant to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The extent of that right has been continually tested and strongly protected at all levels of government. But that right is not unlimited.

The Supreme Court found, in the case of Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), that speech is not constitutionally protected if it is intended to produce imminent violent conduct and is likely to do so. However, the limits of free speech are still being defined in the courts. A recent Ninth Circuit decision found that statutory language in the federal riot statute that criminalizes "promoting" or "encouraging" a riot was overly broad.
I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here, but how insane does Trump's incendiary speech have to be before the disincentives against it are not "overly broad".

When it presents a clear and present danger - that is, a “real imminent threat” that “substantive evil” will follow. It’s a pretty high hurdle. I don’t think he’s there (yet).

Break out your tiny violins - Trump dropped from Forbes top 400 wealthiest list this year. (sob)

Twenty-four people who made the 2022 ranking are now too poor to make the cut. Among the drop-offs are Donald Trump, whose social media platform and commercial real estate holdings are sputtering, and Sam Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang, who are navigating federal fraud charges after their crypto empire FTX went up in smoke last fall.

Welcome back Late Night TV! :cheer1:
“I can tell you one thing, that if he would ask me what should he do for fitness, I would just say, ‘Run around yourself three times and you’re going to be in great, great shape.’ Look, we all know the way he is, and if it makes him feel good to tell everyone he weighs 215, I think everyone laughs about it because he does not look like he weighs 215. He’s a little more like 315.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger, speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, who says he almost crossed the picket line to joke about Trump’s claimed weight.

Any moment now, he will announce on Truth Social, that Forbes Magazine is a failing left-wing rag that has been pressured by the rest of the lamestream media to say bad things about him. He will also claim that he is not only in the top 400, but is in the top ten.

That image was being passed around on the bird site.

I was curious about its origination (and not curious about rumors about its origination), but not so curious as to investigate.
