All eyes are on April the giraffe, who is expecting a calf any minute now.
The Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, is live streaming video from April’s enclosure. According to the park, April was experiencing “big baby kicks” as of Monday morning as the calf continued to move. Keepers have not yet announced active labor, and said in a Facebook post that both mother and baby are “happy and healthy.”
Thousands of viewers continue to tune into the live stream, which you can watch below, courtesy of the park.

Re: April the giraffe
LOL. When my wife was pregnant she went to clean the outside of the sliding glass door to the patio. She closed the door and the burgler bar slipped down locking her out.Sugar Magnolia wrote:But is she scrubbing the glass door track on the shower with a toothbrush yet?kate520 wrote:She's chewing on her tail this morning. I came home a couple hours later, I walked into the living room and she was waving at me through the glass doors. I waved back and went into the other room. "Why is she yelling?"

Walk faster?

Re: April the giraffe

I knew a girl like April, barely could tell she was pregnant even at 9 months. She was over 6 feet tall, and now I think of it, had a neck like April's, too, and a loong torso. Some people never knew she was pregnant until she started bringing her baby everywhere.

Soon, April?

DENVER (RNN) – While the world watches for the arrival of a baby giraffe in New York, the Denver Zoo quietly welcomed an adorable and unexpected new addition of its own.
Dobby, a male baby giraffe standing 5-feet tall, came into the world Tuesday.
The pregnancy came as a surprise to zookeepers. Mom Kipele was on birth control when Dobby was conceived. They only found out recently she was expecting.
Giraffes undergo a 15-month gestation period. Dobby should be around 12 feet tall by the time he turns two years old.
Giraffes can grow up to 17 feet tall, according to the zoo.

Re: April the giraffe
When my daughter was about 3 she was obsessed with giraffes, so one day I planned a whole Giraffe Day for her, where we learned about giraffes and did tons of giraffe activities. One of the things we learned was that giraffes are about 6 foot tall when they're born. A few days later we were in the grocery store and a very tall Sudanese woman walked in. My daughter loudly exclaimed, "Look at her, Mummy" - and there I am, worried she's going to say something about her skin colour, because we live in a very white place, when she blurts out instead "She's as tall as a baby giraffe!"
