So, this happened last week.

I subscribe to the LACSO Emergency alert service. A hiker in the local mountains above and slightly west of JPL went off trail and got lost. Like, really lost. With his last % of battery and one bar service he sent a picture to a friend. His friend contacted the Sheriff’s Rescue. They sent a blast out that I thought was genius.
