Yep, odd that there's no leaks about what the issue might be. The Jazz Fest boards I'm on are losing their shit about the Stones being cancelled too. (Postponed for the other dates, cancelled for JF.) Even getting the Stones for the 50th fest was a complete and total goat circus to begin with and fucked up the plans of a bunch of international visitors when they changed the days and added "special" tickets and a bunch of other badly thought out stuff. No idea how they're going to rejigger 12 stages for the last 3 hours either. Maybe the local bands who were shut out originally will get a slot, but who the hell knows what Quint will do. Dicking around with JF in a money grab move was not the best idea they've ever had.
There are leaks ;)

Mick Jagger will undergo heart surgery this week following the postponement of the Rolling Stones’ North American tour, according to reports.

It seems that the 75-year-old rocker is “set to have a stent placed in his heart,” according to Page Six, but Jagger could be back in action relatively soon after the procedure.

“You can be back at work within weeks” a source tells Page Six. “But it could be because the health checks are all set into the insurance for the tour, maybe they’re being careful (by postponing the tour).”

The surgery will take place in New York City and Jagger is expected to make a full recovery, according to Drudge Report, which broke the story.
Leaks, but no information.

Bernie Sanders Is Hospitalized, Raising Questions About His Candidacy
The Vermont senator had two stents inserted in an artery after experiencing chest discomfort at an event. His campaign canceled his events and said he would be resting for several days.

Updated 10:07 p.m. ET

Senator Bernie Sanders was recovering in a Las Vegas hospital on Wednesday after being treated for blockage of an artery, forcing him to cancel his events in the coming days and casting uncertainty over a candidacy already struggling to win new voters.

Mr. Sanders, 78, experienced “some chest discomfort” at an event Tuesday night, said Jeff Weaver, a longtime adviser; a medical evaluation found blockage in one artery, and two stents were inserted.

Mr. Sanders’s hospitalization is likely to intensify the focus on age in the Democratic race, even as much of the public debate has centered on policies like health care and immigration. The three leading Democratic candidates, as well as the president they are vying to challenge, are all in their 70s. One of those Democrats, Joseph R. Biden Jr., 76, has drawn his own age-related scrutiny because of his sometimes rambling discourses and uneven answers in debates.

From the pictures, either she has some sort of serious wasting disease, or she suffers from anorexia.

In any case, she doesn't look healthy at all.

She has reportedly taken up ballet and looks like most ballerinas I've ever seen. They all look like they haven't eaten in a month. Her clothing choices only serve to accentuate the look.

eta: She's on tour right now so I can't imagine her health is bad.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews off the air following cancer surgery

Inquirer

Longtime MSNBC host and Philadelphian Chris Matthews has been notably absent from Hardball for over a week. On Monday night, viewers found out why — the fiery host is recovering from surgery after a recent cancer diagnosis.

I know a few folks here don't like him but I've always had a soft place in my heart for Chris because of his.... enthusiasm. That, plus the thrill that went up his leg from an Obama speech that one time.

I'd find that explanation plausible except for two things. The first, major one is that she had a years-long Vegas engagement with a pretty grueling performance and rehearsal schedule. Compared to that, ballet classes a few times a week are nothing. You'd think if anything was going to cause noticeable weight loss, it would've been the Vegas shows, not ballet classes.

The second, minor reason is that she's had issues with an eating disorder in the past.
She's on tour right now so I can't imagine her health is bad.
Then again, if it was, they've got stuff to help ensure she's able to perform. You don't want to become uninsurable for the next concert tour by having canceled multiple shows (or worse, the rest of the tour), so there's a strong motivation to do whatever's necessary to perform.

On a slightly related note, the reviewer for the local newspaper called the recent concert by Heart one of the best arena shows he'd seen all year. He was very impressed by both Ann and Nancy's performances.
I've heard this bull before.

https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/eat ... ia-nervosa

Anorexia nervosa, also called anorexia, is a potentially life-threatening eating disorder that is characterized by self-starvation and excessive weight loss. The disorder is diagnosed when a person weighs at least 15% less than his or her normal/ideal body weight. Extreme weight loss in people with anorexia nervosa can lead to dangerous health problems and even death.

Former U.S. President Carter hospitalized in Atlanta for bleeding on the brain

(Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter was admitted to an Atlanta hospital on Monday for a procedure to relieve brain pressure from bleeding caused by recent falls, the Carter Center said in a statement.

Carter, 95, the country’s oldest living president, was admitted to Emory University Hospital about three weeks after falling at his home in Plains, Georgia. He was released from the hospital a few days after that accident.

A previous fall earlier in October required stitches to Carter’s face. In May, the former president broke his hip, also at home, requiring him to undergo surgery..

The procedure to relieve pressure on his brain was scheduled for Tuesday morning, the Carter Center said, adding that he was “resting comfortably,” and that his wife, Rosalynn, 92, was with him.

Former President Jimmy Carter released from hospital 2 weeks after undergoing brain surgery
ByJULIA JACOBONov 27, 2019, 11:04 AM ET
John Amis/AP, FILE

Former President Jimmy Carter has been released from the hospital after he was admitted earlier this month for brain surgery.

Carter, 95, was discharged from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta Wednesday morning after a successful surgery and recovery to relieve pressure on his brain caused by a subdural hematoma, a serious condition -- usually caused by a head injury -- where blood collects between the skull and the surface of the brain, a spokeswoman from the Carter Center said in a statement.

There were no complications from the surgery, The Carter Center said.
