Is it tacky to start a death watch thread on George HW Bush?I don't think he's going to make it to the new year.I don't think it is tacky, but perhaps we could use a separate thread for situations like this. George H.W. was admitted the day after Thanksgiving for treatment of a persistent cough. There were hopes that he would be home in time for Christmas. However, he was admitted to Methodist Hospital's Intensive Care Unit on Sunday, Dec. 23. His doctors say that he is doing better even though his fever rose. He is 88, a tad older than President Carter. [/break1]npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/12/27/168122527/elder-president-bush-in-intensive-care]http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/201 ... nsive-care

For all of this trouble, you might as well create a thread for a Dead Pool.

W2 and I always have bets on whether or not certain famous people will make it to the New Year. Perennial favorites include the pope, various ex-presidents, a star or two, and Abe Vigoda. Usually with old stars our reaction is "He/she wasn't already dead?"

NBC News has posted a photo series, [link]"The Life and Times of George H. W. Bush",http://msnbc.msn.com/id/35183753/displa ... n=politics[/link].Conspiracy theorists are having a fit about the fact that there are 33 photos. [link]NBC Honors Ailing War Criminal George H.W. Bush with Freemasonic '33 photo' Tribute,http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/fo ... ead=264672[/link]. Warning: some of the links are to the Veterans Today site, which consistently is tagged by Malwarebytes Pro as linking to unsafe URL's. This is rather premature, IMHO.In further symbolism, a [link]33 ton glass aquarium has collapsed at a mall in Shanghai,http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/fo ... ead=264675[/link], scattering live sharks among the shoppers. The video link is to Russia Today. The number 33 is important because it is 3 times 11, and we all know what 11 means.

... and we all know what 11 means.Really loud? That is how my amplifier sees things, but 11 is far more magical. [link]"The Symbolism and Spiritual Significance of the Number 11",http://www.greatdreams.com/eleven/num11.htm[/link]Number Eleven possesses the qualities of intuition, patience, honesty, sensitivity, and spirituality, and is idealistic. Others turn to people who are 'Eleven' for teaching and inspiration, and are usually uplifted by the experience. In systems such as Astrology and basic Numerology, eleven is considered to be a Master Number. Eleven can also represent sin; transgression and peril. Ten being the perfect number, eleven represents the exceeding of both. It is interesting to note that eleven when broken down ( 1+1=2) comprises the Two of duality. Number eleven is a master vibration and as such should not be reduced to a single number.People with this number could be both idealistic and visionary, and they are attracted to the unknown. They can be both unusual, interesting and magnetic personalities.Eleven bring the gift of spiritual inheritance, is gifted as the "Light-Bearer". It is the number of the Light within all. Strengthened by the love of Peace, gentleness, sensitivity and insight. Greatest facility is the awareness of Universal relationship. Is related to the energy of Oppositions and the Balancing needed in order to achieve synthesis. Eleven is The PeaceMaker... Colours : Gold, Salmon, Prune, White and Black.

Well, Der Spiegel didn't get the right message.

Germany’s respected news weekly Der Spiegel mistakenly published an obituary on Sunday for former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, hours after a family spokesman said the 88-year-old was recovering from illness.

The unfinished obituary appeared on the paper's website for only a few minutes on Sunday before it was spotted by Internet users and removed.

In it, the magazine’s New York correspondent described Mr. Bush as “a colourless politician” whose image only improved when it was compared to the later presidency of his son, George W. Bush.

Obviously, they got the last paragraph right, lol!

From Business Insider

[link]Hillary Clinton Admitted To Hospital With A Blood Clot Following Concussion,http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary- ... ot-2012-12[/link]

The Associated Press is reporting that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been admitted to the hospital with a blood clot following a concussion, according to a spokesperson.

CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan reports that a spokesperson for Clinton confirmed that the former First Lady has been taken to New York Presbyterian, and that the hospital will monitor her for the next 48 hours.

Earlier this month, Clinton's office disclosed that the Secretary of State had fallen ill from a stomach virus, causing her to cancel a planned trip to the Middle East. On December 15, Clinton's doctors reported that she had sustained a concussion after fainting from her illness.

More to come...

Hope she turns out okay. I wonder why they didn't catch this earlier. Could it be a contrecoup concussion on the opposite side from the impact?
