Justice Stevens was one of my personal heroes. Slate's headline this morning called him the "conscience of the Supreme Court." That's damn right.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted images of FDNY firefighters Richard Driscoll and Kevin Nolan, saying, "200 members of the FDNY have now succumbed to WTC-related illness. They didn't hesitate to run into danger. They stayed until the work was done."
Thank you for your courage, bravery and resolve to save others at your own peril! :crying:

They're hypocrites at best, because— no, they're not only hypocrites, they're bottom-feeders, they're opportunists," 9/11 first responder John Feal says on CNN about Sens. Rand Paul & Mike Lee. "They should be begging for forgiveness for being assholes."

I didn't realize he was that old. He was quite popular and still was in certain circles. A nice man from all I 've heard. He must be about the last of the VTBS crew left.

75 is too early, and I'm sorry to hear it. That said, I'm ashamed to admit that I've not seen a lot of Rutger Hauer stuff and my favorite is not "Blade Runner" but "Split Second", a 1992 film set in some post global warming, post apocalyptic, half flooded London. I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe Alun Armstrong?
