Warren Jeffs' Son, Who Publicly Spoke Out About His Father's Cult and Years of Abuse, Dead at 26

Warren Jeffs’ son, who publicly accused him of sexual abuse and spoke out about his cult — the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints — has died.

Leroy “Roy” Jeffs was found dead on Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. He was 26.

He would have celebrated his 27th birthday on June 5.

Roy’s half-sister Rachel Jeffs confirmed his death, telling the outlet he died by suicide.
.................
“Father didn’t love him. [Roy] knew it,” Rachel told The Salt Lake Tribune. “All of us knew it. We all got told Roy was a bad boy.”

Rachel also addressed her brother’s death in an interview with ABC 4.

“He did not allow Roy to grow up with his siblings, and he kept him hidden in houses of hiding most of his growing up life, telling the family that Roy was a bad boy and tried to turn us against him,” Rachel told the outlet.

“I’m proud of Roy for the courage he’s shown in being the first of my siblings to leave the FLDS cult and trying to figure out life the best he could,” Rachel continued. Rachel and her sister Becky have also spoken out about their father’s abuse.

That is just so sad and tragic and another in a too very long list of lives and souls that vile man and his followers have damaged and destroyed.

Wow! Any moons ago when I was 16-17, I visited my grandparents in FL every summer vacation. A girlfriend and I would go to The Lime Tree INN on Siesta Beach and hang out because they never "carded" and you could lounge on the white sand and drink by the Tiki Bar. One Sunday two strange.dudes dressed in.black wearing Fedoras sat under the Tiki and started playing guitars and singing. I had never heard of Tom Waits or Leon Redbone. They played a song with lyrics having to do with little boys who never combed their hair who ended up living on the nickle over there. I've been a fan of theirs since.

RIP Leon.
One of my favorite songs. An impressionistic masterpiece of haunting, inexplicable beauty.

(CNN) — Arte Johnson, a master of sketch comedy who won an Emmy for the hit series "Laugh-In," died Wednesday of heart failure, according to a family representative. He was 90.

Johnson died in Los Angeles.

The irreverent series formally known as " Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" became an unexpected hit for NBC, and Johnson was among its more gifted and versatile performers. His German soldier prompted the catch phrase "Very interesting," and his dirty old man sketch, with Ruth Buzzi, was notorious for causing his co-stars to break out in laughter. (In a recent "Laugh-In" tribute that played on Netflix, Johnson was shown in outtakes making guest Don Rickles laugh so hard that he pleaded with Johnson to "give me a break.")

Johnson spent only four seasons on "Laugh-In," winning an Emmy in 1969. He appeared in comic TV roles before and after the series, without approaching the success of "Laugh-In." Other credits included an episode of "The Twilight Zone," as well as co-starring as Dracula's servant Renfield in the 1979 comedy "Love at First Bite," starring George Hamilton.

When I was a wee bairn, my grandparents gave me a birthday subscription to Highlights, then, a couple years later , they changed it to Ranger Rick Magazine.

When I turned 12, they changed it to Mad Magazine and renewed that through my 17th birfday.

I had awesome grandparents.

Back in the 1990s-early 2000s I owned a laboratory that specialised in focused ion beam circuit editing. My customers were mostly IC product and design engineers, so a bit nerdy (although some designers reminded me more of lead guitarists). In our waiting area we had the usual assortment of trade magazines - Semiconductor International, Solid State Technology, ChipDesign, etc. - along with Sports Illustrated (my #2 guy was a regular Jim Rome listener) and MAD Magazine. Guess which one got stolen most often :-D
