Another of my babies gone. It doesn't get any easier.

This family is so very desperate. Give if you can, share if you can't.

Thank you

I'm a huge Rush fan, seen them in concert 6 times and always loved Neal's solos. A true loss.

Thank you Foggy-

yes I have had over 3000 babies in my career. One of which is my own.

Once a student has been in my classroom they will always be my baby. I have many over 20 that still call me mama D

thank you.

I have the philosophy that yes, content matters but more than anything for the time In my room, they will feel that someone loves them and that they are protected for the time they are in my class. I like to say I teach life with a little bit of social students woven in.

It works, most of my students look forward to coming to my class.

It is one of the reasons why this new position bumms me out so much. However, from August to now, I have seen tremendous growth from my students and that makes it worth it.

This machine kills.

David Olney, a famed folk singer-songwriter, has died. He was 71.

Olney was performing at the 30A Songwriters Festival in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, on Saturday when he suffered an apparent heart attack and died, according to his website.

Musician Amy Rigby was performing with Olney at the festival when he died, and shared the news on Facebook, describing his final moments.

“David Olney, a beautiful man, a legend, a songwriting poet died last night. I was sitting next to him in the round, had been so honored and looking forward to getting to trade songs with him and Scott Miller,” she wrote.

“Olney was in the middle of his third song when he stopped, apologized and shut his eyes. He was very still, sitting upright with his guitar on, wearing the coolest hat and a beautiful rust suede jacket we laughed about because it was raining like hell outside the boathouse where we were playing,” Rigby, 61, described. “I just want the picture to be as graceful and dignified as it was, because it at first looked like he was just taking a moment.”

First discovered Monty Python via their records while at college. On one of our first dates I took the future Mrs. V. to see "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". :)

We older sibs took Mom, a staunch Catholic, to see ‘Life of Brian’. She gasped a lot at first, finally gave up stifling her laughter, and guffawed her way through the rest of the movie. She thoroughly enjoyed being scandalized. 😂

RIP, Mr. Jones. Thanks for everything.

Don't miss his historical stuff. Barbarians, Crusades, , Great Map Mystery, The Surprising History of ... series. It's his best work (IMO), but I've only seen half the programs he made. I was sad to hear he was diagnosed with dementia a few years back, apparently quite severe.

Shocking. My dad, in the aerospace business, would never get on a helicopter. I won’t either.
