Jim Fowler, who wrassled rabid wildebeest whilst Marlon Perkins stayed in the tent with a pitcher of daiquiris, 89.

https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/05/09/us/jim ... ook.com%2F
I met Jim Fowler maybe 25ish years ago. He was a BIG man. Not just tall (well over 6'), but robust. He said he'd been an athlete but he'd had the proverbial knee injury, which still bothered him. He had a very dominating presence in a laid-back way. He did joke about the perceptions about him and Marlin, although I think he mentioned girls vs. daiquiris. He loved his work on Wild Kingdom.

I remember an episode where he was in the water when a big anaconda started wrapping around him (possible suffocation and/or drowning). I swear that while he was fighting it off, Marlin narrated something like, "While Jim tries to fight off the anaconda, let's hear from our sponsor, Mutual of Omaha." Well, maybe it's so long ago it's a pretty faulty memory. But whether true or not, I still laugh at the blasé attitude.

My mother is a big Doris Day fan. It wasn't until recently I started bringing her old Doris Day/Rock Hudson or Cary Grant movies to watch together. Now I know why mom was such a big fan.
