When liberals have to hold out hope that the Chief Justice may vote with the four liberals on the Court we are well and truly screwed.

Concur.

But cert. denial means at least one conservative justice also voted to deny.

I wonder there was juuuust enough state law involved for a small-c conservative to "discover" judicial restraint.
