Good catch Dolly! He tricked me by not tweeting it. I guess DOL went to LV from San Diego instead of vice versa but not sure.

Jeazess H. Kreist, that's the best meal of her life?

A roadhouse burger with fries and a cup of maybe split pea soup, with a PBR in a can?

WTF has that girl been eating all her life?

Considering that Karl was largely involved in Tracia's upbringing, I have no difficulty believing this is the best it gets for her. Karl probably fed his children expired MREs from the military surplus store.

I'm sure she's not exactly a gourmand. However, if there's an adequate amount of bacon, that would redeem the whole meal and if the bacon were really nicely applewood smoked, that would even overcome the trashiness of allowing a can of PBR on the table.

that's a tall order even for the heavenliness presented by the bacon gods.

The PBR might be an upgrade for her. I bet her fridge is full of Old Millwater.

I once chastised the other tenant after finding a finished PBR case in the recycle bin. Our garbage has standards here.

Considering Karl, this all sounds par for the course, and not at all surprising.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is an American lager beer sold by Pabst Brewing Company, established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1844 and currently based in Los Angeles.

Originally called Best Select, and then Pabst Select, the current name comes from the blue ribbons tied around the bottle neck between 1882 and 1916. <snip>

Thank you. I assume from the general scorn that it it is considered to be related to cat's piss.

Have you noticed how many members here worship their feline gods? They would probably consider calling it cat's piss a compliment, indicating a nectar-like quality.

Probably more equine than feline, very sick equine.

For people who drink stuff from craft brewers, all of those massed-produced American pale lagers are nothing more than badly flavored water. In fairness, you could do worse than PBR. At that point, I would prefer cat piss.

I'd rather be seen drinking water as the best drink ever.

I like the "greatest meal ever/aren't you jealous" over a dime a dozen roadside bar burger and swill. It takes a lot more than that to get me envious.

I keep saying it — you'd think the DOL would have enough education and life exposure to be over Kap'n's shenanigans and taste but no.

One does get the impression that a restaurant with more than one knife and fork in a setting is outside her experience.

Along with the trucker hats, PBR was big with the hipsters, like, ten years ago, at least in Myville. Now as cheap lager beers go, I'm a fan of the PBR, but I'll take a Miller High Life over the PBR any day. Or a Foothills Torch pilsner if I want the same kind of thing but I'm trying to be fancy.

Not to put too fine a point on it, I rather suspect that a roadhouse, any roadhouse, is fancy eats for Karl, and by default DOL, then again I could be giving them too much credit.

Off Topic
When I was a kid, my mom would wake my sister and I up for school each morning by coming into our bedroom and loudly asking what we wanted for breakfast.
She'd then suggest Pabst Blue Ribbon accompanied with the following:

Cold cats eyes
Fried in snot
All rolled up and tied in a knot.

PBR is now forever associated with cats and snot for me.

Karl's problem is that he is just too stupid to know just how stupid he really is. SIGH!!!

I’m pretty big on the principle of de gustibus non est disputandum, or as my grandad would put it, to each cat his own rat. But still, the notion that this poor Daughter of Liberty think a burger ‘n fries with a can o’ beer on the side is The Bestest Meal Ever makes me very melancholy. That poor child doesn’t even know what she doesn’t know. And when it comes to severe mental issues, how much is hereditary?

Very melancholy indeed. She wasn’t dealt a fair hand from the deck.
