New poot on the radar screen. Guy who got into zero of the law schools he applied for because he refused to take the LSAT. He claims that this was eminently reasonable because
The LSAT is based on ideology rather than science, and is planned, organized, coordinated, budgeted and administered by radicals who ignore our law, our history, our culture, ethics and probably all of western civilization law.

Apparently there are a few bits of classic SovCit arglebargle in the filing:
Plaintiff alleges that not admitting him to law school constituted various torts including trespass, “trespass on the case,” intentional infliction of emotional distress, bad faith, trover (!), and the best of the formal causes of action, “failure to provide a Republican form of government.”
The plaintiff also brings in Black's Law Dictionary and the Magna Carta.

Link to news story in a lawyer blog here, which in turn links to the complaint and other coverage: http://loweringthebar.net/2018/09/rejec ... carta.html. Worth a read for a chuckle.

Thanks to John I learned a new legalese word:

tro·ver
ˈtrōvər/
nounLaw
noun: trover
common-law action to recover the value of personal property that has been wrongfully disposed of by another person.

I note that the plaintiff did not apply to Orly's alma mater, Taft.

This is not the plaintiff's first dance. It appears he tried the same thing in Federal Claims court. The court granted his in forma pauperis motion and then promptly dismissed the case.
For the reasons stated, the court grants Mr. Kennedy's motion to proceed in forma pauperis, but dismisses the complaint under Section 1915(e)(2)(B) and for lack of subject matter jurisdiction under Rule 12(h)(3) of the Court of Federal Claims ("RCFC").

Edit: Looks like he has filed cases all over the place recently. Most of them were the same results as above. The court granted IFP and then dismissed the case.

Quatloos is reporting a rumor that ODC-afflicted pretend postal district court judge David-Wynn: Miller died in June 2018, though they don't have clear substantiation. No comment on any of the various poot sites that have broadcast his interminable nonsense, and no independent variation. Their story: http://www.quatloos.com/Q-Forum/viewtop ... 1&p=269192

An ignominious end for a complete nutter. The last year has not been kind to him. He got "field court martialed" by his own supporters.

Pretend judge Anna trashed David-Wynn: Miller and his acolyte Russell-Jay: Gould in an editorial http://annavonreitz.com/annaaboutcontracts.pdf but then later endorsed Gould as the real deal while ignoring Miller.

And more recently, Miller's disciple Leighton Ward was sentenced to ~20 years in jail in Arizona for mortage fraud. Details about Leighton Ward's case are upthread here. Ward appeared in at least one video with Miller where they held a session of their pretend "postal district court" suing the IRS, and "winning" a pretend default judgment against the Feds when they failed to show up for this pretend court session. The video mostly shows them sitting around and waiting for a couple of hours.

An ignominious end for a complete nutter and ideas that were obviously driven by extreme mental illness.

It looks to be true: searchquarry.com reports the death of a David Wynn Miller aged 69 in Milwaukee citing its data source as Wisconsin Eastern District Court - Milwaukee. Without paying money (nope) I can't see the date of the death or the record but assuming it's recent the age matches well enough (DWM was born in September 1949 according to Wikipedia so would have been 68 but that slip of one year is probably not significant) as does the location.

I read the gibberish at https://federal-postal-court.org/2018/0 ... -ceremony/ as indicating an event in Reno, Nevada on August 4th/5th that would be part commemoration of the achievements  of David Wynn Miller, part assorted postal quantum court idiocy.

Winston Shrout found competent to be sentenced.
Shrout described himself as an "alien walk-in'' who inhabited a 5-year-old's body and descended from Jesus and Mary Magdalene. He said he was sent to Earth "to destroy the Jesuits,'' according to court testimony.

The 70-year-old also told mental health evaluators that he communicates with a "galactic roundtable in his dreams'' and operates in a "third-dimensional frequency.''

Well, that’s a relief. It’s such a drag when you get stuck with only two dimensions.

That little weasel has been putting off his sentencing for over a year now. He was convicted in April 2017. First he was too injured to go to prison (even as he continued to travel and promote his theories), now he's too crazy. Throw his ass in jail already.

And they actually had something to back them up like money and armies and planning, and look where it ended up.

We've talked about Gregory Rodvelt before.

They got him.

Man arrested following standoff on US 60 near Wittmann

http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizon ... 4179-story
According to Surprise Police, they, along with several other law enforcement agencies, responded to a report of a person who has barricaded him/herself inside the vehicle with a weapon. The suspect has since been identified as Gregory Rodvelt. The 65-year-old man is reportedly from Sun City West.

The standoff, according to Surprise Police, took place in the area of Grand Avenue and Center Street, but officers first received a call in the area of Bell and Grand, of a person brandishing a weapon. The car was then traced to Wittmann, where the suspect reportedly refused to come out.

Police were eventually able to get in touch with the suspect via telephone, where he said he had a weapon on his and is not coming out. The suspect eventually left the vehicle, after SWAT officers were able to maneuver into a "position of advantage". Rodvelt was later placed into custody.

According to Surprise Police, Rodvelt is facing several felony charges in connection with the incident.
An update: he had been held in the Maricopa County jail but was released for two weeks so he could prepare a property in Oregon for sale.

He prepared the property, all right-he boobytrapped it. A real estate agent called the cops and this is what happened next:
A criminal complaint filed in US district court in Medford said officers found traps throughout the property including spike strips and a circular hot tub turned on its side and rigged to roll over anyone who triggered a tripwire.

“(It was) much like a scene from the movie ‘Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark’ in which actor Harrison Ford is forced to outrun a giant stone boulder that he inadvertently triggered by a booby trap switch,” the complaint said.

After making it past the hot tub, a bomb squad and FBI agent approached the house and blasted open the fortified front door.

Inside the home a wheelchair fitted with a fishing line, shotgun ammunition and other items triggered the explosion that wounded the agent, according to court documents. An X-ray found a .410-gauge shotgun pellet in the agent’s leg, documents said.
More at the link, but nothing specifically sovcit. I saw this on the front page of the Guardian and it rang a bell. Sure enough...

How does a person with a history of armed standoffs get this kind of leniency?

It's the lesser-known corrolary of America's racist criminal justice system: it doesn't incarcerate white people it should. Violent sovcits, multiple DUI offenders, sexual assaulters, and the like.

The purple flag is the flag of the Iroquois Confederacy . They are real indians (mostly in upstate NY and Canada) and include the real Tuscarora tribe that immigrated from South Carolina to Upstate New York.

The middle red/orange flag seems to be either the flag of the Mohawk Indians (part of the Iroquois Confederation) or closely derived from it.

Like I said upthread, this probably started with good intentions by people who thought they were (and maybe really even were) descendants of the Tuscarora who didn't make it up to New York. Then the scammers got their hooks into them. Google "Missouri Cherokee" for several examples of the same thing.

edit: I don't necessarily put these guys into the same category as either the standard "sovereign citizens" or the "moorish sovereign citizens." They start out, probably misinformed, but with good intentions. They have pow wows (aka picnics), have meetings, maybe even buy a little land. They try to organize, maybe even try to file a petition to get recognized by the feds. Of course, they attract busy bodies, so they are kind of like property owners associations in that they spend an inordinate amount of time fighting among themselves. That's a very different background than typical "sovereign citizens."

Then, some of them, cross the line into becoming organized criminal entities. Scammers take them over. They start selling memberships to obvious white people, spouting sovereign citizenish BS, scamming investors, and in this case got as far as opening up casinos and their own police force.

Thanks! I had no idea what those purple flags were about but they were everywhere. I was just the guy doing the driveby - not the analyst. That is what is fun about the Fogbowz - people know shit I don't know.
I'll cross post this in Republicans behaving badly, but here we have some "fake Cherokee" scammers/Republicans.

http://www.latimes.com/local/california ... story.html

To make a long story short, Majority Leader McCarthy's brother in law used membership in the Cherokee Northern Cherokee of Missouri and Arkansas, http://www.northerncherokeenation.com/ an unrecognized "tribe" of "Cherokee" to get some very lucrative minority no-bid federal contracts.

BTW, I'm not saying that many of the members don't have Cherokee ancestry and that many of them don't have good intentions. But, McCarthy's brother-in-law obviously bought his card and then misused it.

It's a long article, 4 paragraphs really don't give an understanding of the scam. . .

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s family benefited from U.S. program for minorities based on disputed ancestry

A company owned by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s in-laws won more than $7 million in no-bid and other federal contracts at U.S. military installations and other government properties in California based on a dubious claim of Native American identity by McCarthy’s brother-in-law, a Times investigation has found.

The prime contracts, awarded through a federal program designed to help disadvantaged minorities, were mostly for construction projects at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in McCarthy’s Bakersfield-based district, and the Naval Air Station Lemoore in nearby Kings County.

Vortex Construction, whose principal owner is William Wages, the brother of McCarthy’s wife, Judy, received a total of $7.6 million in no-bid and other prime federal contracts since 2000, The Times found.
***

Wages says he is one-eighth Cherokee. An examination of government and tribal records by The Times and a leading Cherokee genealogist casts doubt on that claim, however. He is a member of a group called the Northern Cherokee Nation, which has no federal or state recognition as a legitimate tribe. It is considered a fraud by leaders of tribes that have federal recognition.

"I asked Osama bin Laden and he very strongly said that he had nothing to do with crashing airplanes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. I don't see any reason it would be Al-Qaeda."
