Ted Kaczynski, known as the “Unabomber,” who carried out a 17-year bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others, died by suicide, four people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

Kaczynski, who was 81 and suffering from late-stage cancer, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. Emergency responders performed CPR and revived him before he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead later Saturday morning, the people told the AP. They were not authorized to publicly discuss Kaczynski’s death and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Lawrence G. Nassar, the doctor convicted of sexually abusing young female gymnasts, was stabbed multiple times in the chest, back and neck at the federal prison in Florida where he is serving a 60-year sentence, according to two people with knowledge of the situation.

Mr. Nassar, 59, is in stable condition after he was attacked by another inmate at the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman, a sprawling prison compound in Central Florida, they said.

It is not clear when the altercation took place or what prompted the attack. A spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which manages the complex, did not immediately return a request for comment.

The episode adds to a long, troubled case of a once-prominent sports physician accused of molesting and assaulting dozens of young women and children, including athletes at Michigan State University, Olympians and members of the U.S. national gymnastics team — in the guise of providing treatment and examinations.

Damn. So Lewis likely got away with 7 murders because of a lack of direct evidence, another murder on a rights violation and a kidnapping and rape because the victim wouldn't testify. Ok, so he did 13 years for extortion, but he should have spent a LOT more time in prison than he did. No criminal should be that lucky.

Sunday’s attack was the second time Nassar has been assaulted in federal custody. He is serving decades in prison for sexually abusing athletes, including college and Olympic gymnastics stars, and possessing explicit images of children.

Scir Reeve posted a report from Racist Roots that even more racist, vile, contaminated meat-selling, sob Rudy Stanko has passed. I had forgotten about him and am a little annoyed with Racist Roots who reminded me that Stanko existed.

Besides the meat issue, he was also a minister in the racist anti-semite World Church of the Creator, had later convictions for felon in possession, speeding in Montana (like 117mph and 121mph), and issues with Oglala Sioux where he found him self banned from Pine Riidge a few years back. He also liked to sue lots of folks, lots of times.
