Gah!!!!! [link]GOP introduces 'birther' resolution at state legislature,http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-gop-intro ... 2820.story[/link]11 Republican state senators have introduced a last-minute resolution that would require elected officials to provide proof of citizenship before they are sworn-in..."The concurrent resolution requires any person elected to public office in the state of Colorado to provide proof of citizenship along with the oath of office," the resolution states. "If an elected officer fails to file proof of citizenship, the office is deemed vacant." ](*,) [link]Partial text of the bill,http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2 ... 003_01.pdf[/link]SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 11-003SUBMITTING TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE STATE OF COLORADO AN AMENDMENT TO THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION CONCERNING A REQUIREMENT THAT AN ELECTED PUBLIC OFFICER PROVIDE PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP BEFORE ENTERING UPON THE DUTIES OF OFFICE.And, of course, my dumbass state rep is a sponsor of this. #-o

Someone should plant the bug in Orly's, um, yahoo. Nothing kills a bill's chances of enactment like getting the Birther Queen on board.

No worry, Highlands!! It was assigned to Senator Rollie Heath's committee who will quickly flush the nonsense from the calendar. It looks like May 2 will be a twofer with Orly in the morning and the Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee hearing Lambert's insanity at 1:30 PM. It is scheduled to be heard in Senate Committee Room 353. If you can't make it, there will be an audio feed. Here is the general link to the live audio feeds for committee hearings.http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2 ... enFormHere is the link to Senate Concurrent Resolution 11-003 that will ask Colorado voters to amend our state constitution.http://www.leg.state.co.us/CLICS/CLICS2 ... _01.pdfYou don't suppose that Rep. Joshi got a call from one of his constituents, Greg Hollister do you? ](*,)BB,Thank doG that Orly will be too busy feenishing up in Pasadena to make it to the hearing. Calm down everyone - even if this was passed it couldn't apply to the President - at the very least because it's the Electors who are elected in the State not the President.

Check the MO birther bill thread if you are unaware of him. viewtopic.php?f=59&t=5294This was his Senate bill before it was tacked onto a House bill:[/break1]senate.mo.gov/11info/BTS_Web/Bill.aspx?SessionType=R&BillID=4154344]http://www.senate.mo.gov/11info/BTS_Web ... Highlands,Just to put the Colorado eligibility nonsense to rest. No surprises at this afternoon's hearing by the Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Commitee! It was postponed indefinitely on a 3-2 party line vote. Cadman and Grantham were thwarted in their effort to let Colorado voters decide. =)) :-bd
