We had to board our baby (Bentley 9 years old)

We missed him greatly. So, whenever we saw puppies that were not service dogs, I asked to pet them.

WELL

How about if we put in a small store front and call it Puppy Therapy.

50 bucks for 10 minutes and you can sit with up to 10 puppies and pet-hug-kiss-play with puppies for 10 minutes. Get some puppy love while missing yours~

It sounds wonderful, puppies is fun.

Not to rain on your fun, but the logistics seem a bit.....undoable? A steady supply of 10+ puppies and consistently finding them good homes when they're not puppies any longer seems a bit too much to overcome.

Still, it's an awesome thought.

Neat idea. Some hotels have their own dogs. I know Fairmont does, and you can get to walk them. I think others do, too.

Our local dog pound already does that. You can go walk or bathe or groom or just hang out in the dog yard and play with any animals they have. That's how my daughter found and adopted one of hers.

On one of our trips to Alaska, we stopped at a dog kennel where they raised pups for mushing. We were encouraged in to pet and play with the dogs (in this case huskies) to help socialize them.

When we went mushing on another trip one winter, the dogs were more mutts, but they lived and loved to pull.

When I lived in Alaska there was a woman who lived in our town who raised sled dogs (she also kept the fur after brushing and spun it with a mixture of wool and angora ~shudder~). She swore that mixed breeds made the best sled dogs - they had to have enough husky or malamute in them to have the thick ears and heavy paws to withstand the cold, but the purebred huskies or malamutes were not as hearty. I don’t know how true it is, but that’s what she said.

We had a husky and her undercoat, which shed all the time, was very soft. I can see it being used for that. I love my qiviut, which, of course, is a totally different animal, but an undercoat.
