It's taking 90 to 120 seconds for each post. What could possibly be going on behind the scenes? It should take 90 to 120 MILLIseconds.

The site went down for a bit. Now that it is back up, it's considerably faster.

I am not sure what the issue was with PayPal and V4 because the dudes at IPS have completely banned me from even reading their site. To say they are thinned skinned about their crappy software is an understatement. Whatever the case I am glad people can donate to Fogbow and help with the conversion to something that works. I for one can't wait to get the old skinny theme back. I don't remember the name but I tried all the other themes and kept coming back to that one.Edit:This is a first for me. I have been banned from cesspools like Birther Report but I have never been banned from a company website. They told a 10-year customer to go fuck himself. It's all his fault.

That Lindy fellow is the one that banned me after I complained via PM that they had taken away my posting privileges. He lied about that. Then after I said forget it because the Fogbow is dumping your crapware  he ultra banned me.

This topic took a while to find. It appears that the system does not yet filter or search properly, esp on New Content or Recently Posted.

It appears that the system does not yet filter or search properly, esp on New Content or Recently Posted.IPS states on their "Future Plans" page that their upgraded search already gives you exactly what you need.  So clearly you, me, us and all IPS customers are too unsophisticated to understand perfect search results. You see, the problem is not a fucknado of design, coding and testing fails culminating in the greatest travesty to forum functionality since AOL dial-up.  The real problem is customer expectations, you see.  The fix here, you see, is to adjust expectations; expect nothing and you shall not be disappointed.

IP Board is being crappy to the bitter end. I can't wait for the funeral when we can bury this abomination.

Poor ol' Rooster...if the code wizards at IPS were your car mechanics, the wheels would fall off.  If they were surgeons you'd leave the hospital with your ass sewn to your elbow.  If they ran a lunch cart, the bun would be inside the hotdog. How do they show their faces in the company of anyone in the tech world?  I don't get it.

This is the first time all day IPS has let me write in any box that someone else might see.  I could fill in fields, click things but the reply boxes everywhere, in PM, too, were greyed out and no trick I tried worked.  I had a lot to say today, too.    I'll prolly just lurk until the transfer.  It's really not good for my blood pressure.

One of the many strange things about this board software is that it will run fair and then just randomly grind to a halt. It seems to be somewhat related to the time of day bit not entirely. Oh well, it will be history soon enough I suppose. It's getting really old watching the screen just sit there and do nothing.

Another random observation:  A couple times, when it ground to a halt (page loading so long the browser gave up) I put the iPad in and out of Airplane mode and afterward it loaded quickly.  Relatively, I mean.  Doesn't seem to make any sense, but there it is.

So here's something kinda fun - I figured I'd bypass the built-in search, and use Google. The Google search brought up a whole bunch of pages where one or another of us has used that phrase. And every single time I clicked on one of the links, I got taken to a page on the Fogbow where the searched phrase did not actually appear. That's right, IPS seems to have fucked up external google searches of content. They haven't just broken their own software, they've Sternsigged it.  I'm seriously starting to wonder if Orly bought them out last month.

It's my uneducated guess that the browser scripting loses contact with the forum host, sits there and waits for the pigs to fly.  When entering flight mode the communication stacks are terminated on the phone side, the browser and running scripts gets notified that nothing goes. When exiting flight mode the communication stacks are initialized, the browser gets the notification, and the script reestablishes its communication with the forum host. Life back as if nothing happened.

Google has the link correct and calls the page up.Then the v4 f********s things up: the Google link has this form: thefogbow.com/forum/topic/5561-are-the-proposed-ag-gag-laws-a-violation-of-first-amendment/page-2and the forum software intends to transform it to this style:thefogbow.com/forum/topic/5561-are-the-proposed-ag-gag-laws-a-violation-of-first-amendment/?page=2 but manages to mangle the page number, as far I can determine, it only keeps one digit (first?) and with a single digit page number total loss. Paging Foggy or DrKen for bug report

If the vast backlist of TFB isn't searchable, we're history.

Has TFB been loading reasonably fast this afternoon or is it just the fact that I've been using the New, Improved Microsoft Edge with Insider Preview Build 10159 today?  The world wonders.  Did IPS write this to maximize only one browser at the expense of others?

It was awful this morning especially on my iPad. It has been better on Windows8/Firefox this afternoon. I usually get sub par performance on Safari on my iPad.
