We can accommodate up to 100 people, and I think they removed the time limit from free accounts.

I set it for 1.5 hours in length. If we think that's too short, I can make it longer next time.
I hope y'all are still wearing your seat belts!

Is this by phone or can we also get pickshers of everyone? If the latter I will use my iPhone, which does have a camera.

If it's by phone we will need the Rooster to be the moderator. I will, of course, have lots of questions.

You can dial in via phone much like blogtalk if you don't want to use the app. You can audio-only with app too also if you don't have a cam.

It's set for video = ON for both the host and participants. I don't know if you have to have video, but I doubt it.

For audio, I set it for phone OR computer.

If this works well -- and I see no reason why it shouldn't at this point -- it's something we can do again and again.

BYOB.

This is me, of course.

My teacher today said to see how it goes the first time, in terms of over-talking etc. each person with the app can mute themselves, and block their camera, for the whole thing or temporarily.

If it’s unwieldy, we may want to have two or three hosts. We can circulate, like a cocktail party 🥂

How does it work when you sign in? Can you identify yourself by your Fogbow name?

The link will let you put your first/last name and an email address. You don't need a zoom account to connect as a participant so just use your Fogbow username in the first or last name and repeat it in the other. I'm going to use "neonzx Jimbot".. that's what others will see and make it easy to ID for the owner (Foggy) or any admins he adds to help manage the conference.

How to turn on virtual backgrounds in Zoom

by Brandon Vigliarolo in Software on March 27, 2020, 5:42 AM PST

If you don't want coworkers to see your home during a Zoom meeting, learn how to use the virtual backgrounds feature.

https://www.techrepublic.com/article/ho ... s-in-zoom/
Zoom virtual backgrounds have a hardware requirement in order to function. When following the steps below, you may get a message that your computer doesn't meet the requirements; you can still click through and try virtual backgrounds, but your performance may vary.

I'm going to listen, but I'll be working at home. The meeting is 2 pm my time. All calls to my office are forwarded to my cell, and it rings a lot. Mostly because people are frantically calling everyone, trying to get an answer. I take all calls and help people get to the sources they need. I've learned a lot about unemployment benefits - way out of my area! No calls returned, state internet application system crashes on a regular basis. And now lots of newly unemployed people in government housing who are scared that they will be evicted. And a gazillion other problems. Plus I'm dealing with the insomnia I've had for the past 2 weeks. It's 3:15 am here . Gotta work in 5 hours.

Shower, yes, but don't wash your hair. Dressed, no.

Took a while but I found a webcam and got it to work. Couldn't find my newer webcam. A lot of things I rarely use are all over the place since Harvey.

I will try to make it but we will be at the RC Rocky Mountain Retreat™ and VOIP much less video doesn't work well on satellite internet. I have used Skype before with some success.
