Darn. Can't make that date either. We will be in China then. But the weather will be nicer in October in Myrtle Beach.

So...a couple of hours after I read this post, my sister who just finished chemo and a radical mastectomy, and is starting radiation next week, asked if we could go somewhere the following weekend. So all us sibs and our kids are going to Portland. Which I wouldn’t have been able to do if, you know.

Chili Dog informs me that it is entirely possible that The Imperial Illuminati Air Force may send a delegation from the famed 699th Airborne Assault Dachshund Regiment. Make sure the hotel has a Helicopter Pad.

Shouldn't we plan some security for the event? Maybe we can get Krazy Karl and his imaginary militia at a discount tradeout for all of the publicity that we give him.

Postponed? Is this because we've been indicted?

So, if these dates are still good (sorta) I am going to put in the vacation request. :)

It has been a couple of months, and since I'm a bit OCD when I travel, has a hotel been agreed upon yet? I'll be driving in (only 8 - 9 hours) so just need to know where I'll be parking my car. :)

Sadly, I'll be leaving the Lola in Dayton. I think it would be too much for her to be stuck in a room while I'm out having fun. And if there is beach involved, with my luck she would decide she is a water dog.

That sounds like fun. I'd love to attend one sometime, but we will be on our way to New Mexico on Amtrak to visit friends. Darn.
Amtrak is awesome! PA to Chicago to Albuquerque? Or the southern route? Have you done a long distance train trip before? I iz a pro.
W4, I am also an Amtrak enthusiast! I will be taking the Empire Builder to Chicago in a roomette with my granddaughter for a one-on-one birthday trip for her this summer. Can't wait!

Sorry, with my recent trips to other places and a few weeks of sciatica when I couldn't sit up in a chair, I let this slide. I'll be working on hotels all weekend and should have some word by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

OFFICIAL FOGBOW MEETUP - OCT. 11TH TO 13TH IN MYRTLE BEACH, SC!

#74

Post by Foggy » Mon Jul 15, 2019 5:07 pm

HOKAY!

I have a very reasonable room quote from a hotel in Myrtle Beach, a place I personally visited in March of this year. It's not the swankiest place in Myrtle, but get a load of the price:

$83 per room per night, many swimming pools and directly on the beach, nice place

Now this may be slightly different depending on the exact configuration of your room -- I think this price is for two queen beds in a non-smoking room -- and I'm going to work with the groups manager over the next few days.

If you call to make a reservation (and you should probably hold off at least a day or two until I can talk to the guy), MAKE SURE YOU MENTION THAT YOU'RE WITH THE FOGBOW GROUP on Oct. 11th to 13th.

That way 1) you get the deal, and 2) I get credit toward our minimum number of rooms.

The hotel is Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort, it is indeed directly on the beach, and the website with photos and stuffs is https://www.seacrestmyrtlebeachresort.com/.

More will be revealed!

I'm willing to split a room is anyone needs a roomie. Warning: I snore and tend to mumble in my sleep. Especially when I'm somewhere I'm unfamiliar with. :)
