Is the 'board index' thing that just shows unread posts an extension that will be returning?
:prettyplease:

This was my main way of staying up-to-date on recent posts and it made a huge difference in how usable the forum was, IMO. "Active topics" and "Unread posts" are stopgap measures, but they require an extra click or two every time you finish reading a topic.

But but but, doncha remember the arguments over the optimal number of unread posts to be displayed on the board index? Some wanted zero, some wanted elebenty-seven, and every number in between had an advocate.

Like you, I default to active topics, so I was in the don't care camp.
Yeah, I was one of the ones who dared to be so stupid as to expect that clicking on a button that is called "Board Index" would give you, well, the board index. Silly me.

Yeah, I guess I be kinda crazy like that, too. Index= show me EVERYTHING.

My bookmark link is to unread posts. Even if I manually start typing in the address bar 'thefo', Chrome predictively suggests the unread post link.

Recent Topics (on the Board Index page) is back for those who like it. If you don't like it, you can turn it off in the User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Display Options.

I fixed the link to the forum on the Home Page.

Post Reply should be automatically going to https now. I don't know how to fix that one, but it isn't happening to everyone, so it might be a browser setting on your computer.

I think that's all for now. Still testing extensions and re-enabling them, sometimes that requires an update from the extension writer. Takes time.

I think almost everything else is working OK. Still nothing on the Error log.

Yesterday I was blah and a bit pissy for no reason at all. I was not even that excited about the next episode of Fosse Verdon, and this after I just watched the touring show of Chicago at the Cadillac Palace on Saturday (great show, btw). It must be the upgrade 'cause people don't just wake up with the blues around their bed. That's just silly.

Oh, and Foggy looks like an 🦅 , not a 🐔so upgrade issues.

Not a problem! Google search for "Fogbow" brings up our Fogbow as the 8th result! Yay!

Foggy, maybe there's a way to have it say more than "Index page - Fogbow"? No idea how that works but if it could have a description like other sites we might attract new members :P

Here at the beach I'm getting logged out of Fogbow several times a day.

Somebody fix that, por favor. :flirty:

Oh man. My Uber didn't get here and I'm STILL getting logged out.

Might have something to do with the Wi-Fi here -- I'm only getting 5 Mbps download speed (at home I usually get about 360 Mbps with fiber optic).

The beach is a living nightmare! Where's my new bathing suit, we gotta go check the surf and get some rays!

Nah. I only get 1.5 Mbps* here at the cabin, and I'm never logged out on my computah. Of course I'm logged out all the time on my cell.

*The Rural Broadband program of NY is on the way, though. About 15 miles away as of last check, and due to get to the end of the universe where I live in six to 10 months. 25 Mb download + phone for about 30 percent less than I pay Despised Verizon.

Next I'll find out Suranis really isn't a very large mouse! :eek2:
