Is there a way I can turn the auto draft save function off? The board jumps around way too much. At first it only happened on my cell phone. Now it happens regularly on my desktop. I think that's where the problem lies. It never use to do this. I never had problems before the draft mode was installed. Also, I have to hit <enter> twice for a new paragraph. Really annoying.

I turned off your ability to save drafts, Zeke. Let me know if that messes you up some other way. I can do that for individual users.

Gotcha, Foggy. I'll let you know. Thanks.

Edit: Really really bigly fine business now. The board loads fast on my desktop now. The pages actually stop after the last post read now. One flicker on my cell phone now, but that's much better than what I had before. The enter key now does what I expect the enter key to do.

I keep getting logged out. Usually this happens after an upgrade, but it's happened three times today. Android, Chrome, and whatever the default skin is (I don't like to change skins ;) )

But you know the rule, which is that if it's happening to everyone, I can try to fix it, but if it's just happening to you I will have to come over to your house to see if I can fix it. Which I will be more than happy to do, if you would like to pay for airfare, hotel room, meals, and so forth. More than happy!

Actually, the Obamacare open enrollment period begins mañana, and ol' Wifehorn requires my presence until it ends on December 15th, after which the holidays and the increased risk of winter travel ...

But good luck!

Not a big deal at all, but an avatar just showed up by my user name. I've never had an avatar. It looks like a pic of a rug or blanket, or something? No idea why it appeared or what it is.

I did it, and it's a photo of mountains in New Mexico! Painted mountains!

I left you a post about it on the Whitaker thread. If you hate it, I'll get rid of it, but I thought you might like it. New Mexico is a beautiful state!

Here's the original:

:bighug: It's a gorgeous picture and I love it. Thank you. Northern NM is where my heart is and always will be.

My eyes are quite bad. I did wonder if was Tent Rocks, but I've never seen a picture from that angle before.

Fat fingered on a bouncy bus, I accidentally grazed the link to mark all forums read.

Ouch. There are several dozen long threads that I've been slowly reading at my own pace, months or sometimes years behind the latest posts.

Oh well. But if there were some easy way to revert my "last message read" status to anywhere in the last week or two, without messing up anything else, I'd be grateful.

Not surprised.

No worries, and it's probably for the best.

If I ran the circus there would be an "are you sure?" warning step, but I don't expect that many others would care.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I once did the same thing. Lucky for me, it did not mess up too badly the ones that I intended to keep unread.

Off Topic
Many decades ago I worked on a newspaper publishing system. Something common back then was that there would be standard formats that could be applied to blocks of text and which were identified by numbers well known to the users. Our system allowed for 500 formats; all but five were open to the users to define as needed. The five reserved formats were used to establish system defaults.

There wasn't much security; users with the appropriate permission could edit any format. And sometimes they'd accidentally edit (or worse, delete) one of the reserved ones. So we added a "are you sure?" step to the process.

But people got used to typing "Y" at the prompt without paying attention to what they had done. So we added a "are you REALLY sure?" step... I expected to eventually have to add a "are you REALLY REALLY sure?", but finally the users got the idea of looking before answering.
