Our son-in-law is positive for strep and on an antibiotic. His Covid-19 test will come back in 2 to 3 days.

Schools will remain closed at least until May 4th. Our older daughter reports that online learning is going well. If curious her district's online school is here-

Houston's mayor expects Corvid-19 to peak here about the 1st week in May. He hopes that the shutdowns will work to avoid over-stressing the hospitals. (The governor however keeps adding exceptions.)

Mrs. V. and her usual local circle of friends are planning a Zoom get together tonight. Mrs. V's Zoom training starts soon. ;)

If all goes well her recorder group will try to have a virtual meeting tomorrow evening.

I learned from experience with my music group that it’s nearly impossible to play music together over zoom. Better to take turns, and have everyone else mute their mics. It’s hard for us folkies — we want to play and sing along!

Yeah, but it works best with external hardware, which I I don’t have.

Is anyone else having a hard time remembering what day of the week it is? I'm retired and never had that busy of a schedule, but now it seems like all my days run together. Wednesday is garbage day. That's it.

Yeah, it's garbage day here, too. That's about it. I've been out once in more than three weeks. I am going out tomorrow, though. :daydream:

Even though I’m still working (but from home) I have no clue what day or time it is without looking at my mobile. I’m half expecting to stumble out of bed and on to the computer on Saturday

I used to keep track of the days because I went to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Now the gym is closed and I have no idea what day it is.

Spent much of yesterday figuring out Zoom and then Zooming with friends and relatives.

The longer time frames for the stay-at-home order and peak cases is interfering with our planning for returning to the North Fork. Dr. Peter Hotez, greater Houston's go to guy for the best guesses about Covid-19, thinks that things could remain dicey into July and August.

Once the hospitals resume elective surgery I will need to get mine rescheduled. That may be weeks after surgeries resume. After the surgery I have to follow up with the surgeon for 4 weeks (at least) before getting the go ahead to travel. So in the best case that means end of June. Of course travel may still not be easy even then depending on what's going on in the eleven states thru which we have to drive.

We also worry about what happens in the autumn. If there is a resurgence of the virus we could get caught up there as hotels and restaurants close and states once again become unfriendly to outsiders.

Our son-in-law was feeling much better last night so we hope strep may well be his only problem.

Let's hope all the criminals stay home for a while so he doesn't have to spend too much time in jails and courtrooms. ;)

Our local junior college has postponed this spring's graduation exercises until December. About 25 years ago when I played in the college-community band they played at the graduations. Lots of boring speeches. ;)

Mrs.V. (Kohl's #1 customer ;)) tells me that even though the stores are closed you can order online and pick it up curbside at your local store to save on the shipping costs.

Mrs. V. is downstairs clipping out recipes from yesterday's Chronicle's special Flavor Section- easy recipes for sheltering in place.

So, Volusia County went from 80 total cases on 4/1/2020 to 93 cases on 4/2/2020 and it's only 11 AM. 873 people have been tested in my county and the DOH website indicates 3 people are "awaiting testing". I'm wondering if "awaiting testing" actually means awaiting results or does is really mean that three people have been approved to get tested and haven't been tested yet?

Good news, V.

We have 491 cases in Allegheny County so far. There are still only two deaths here, and that's from more than two weeks ago.
