Mike Pompeo planning to resign because Trump ‘hurting his reputation’, report claims
Conrad Duncan,The Independent•November 20, 2019

Donald Trump’s secretary of state has reportedly told three prominent Republicans that he is planning to resign from the White House to run for a Senate seat.

Mike Pompeo had planned to stay at the State Department until early spring 2020 but he is now concerned that his connection to Mr Trump, particularly through the impeachment inquiry, is hurting his reputation, according to a Time report.

And OMG
Trump fans defend Watergate scandal when Kimmel swaps Nixon's name for Trump's
BY JESSICA CAMPISI - 11/20/19 06:07 PM EST

A group of President Trump’s supporters said in interviews with TV producers that Trump shouldn’t be impeached over a number of incidents — despite the fact that those incidents were actually facts surrounding the Watergate scandal and former President Nixon.

A "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" segment titled "Lie Witness News" that aired Tuesday showed a television crew walking around Hollywood and interviewing random people about whether Trump should be impeached for committing certain acts.

But instead of listing the allegations Trump is actually facing in House Democrats' impeachment inquiry, the crew asked people about facts related to Nixon and Watergate.

“You heard the news that Trump was accused of breaking into the [Democratic National Committee’s] office and stealing sensitive documents,” a producer asks a woman at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Do you think that should be an impeachable offense?”

One of the funnier side stories about Sondland's testimony is the opening statement. Seems the WH tried to get an advance copy, but Gordon's lawyers told them to pound sand.

And it showed up when Nunes gave his opening statement. He had access to a copy as a committee member, but since it didn't come from the WH he didn't bother to look at it,

Swalwell is destroying the pillars that Gym & Co have been hyping.

Ukrainians asked about the money on July 25.

The Pentagon under the Obama administration trained troops and provided armored humvees and a ton of stuff. Ms. Cooper confirmed that was more than "blankets".

I'm waiting to hear from the GOP side "...but her emails!" Except then they'd have to explain why they were using What's App and non secure phones

And a debate on top of this? Publix is delivering more popcorn.

{threadjack}

He wrote it for Scooter Libby & Darth Cheney, but Mark Knopfler’s song Punish the Monkey seems kinda appropriate nowadays.

They're driving long nails into coffins
You've been having sleepless nights
You've gone as quiet as a church mouse
And checking on your rights

The boss has hung you out to dry
And it looks as though
Punish the monkey
And let the organ grinder go

You've been talking to a lawyer
Are you gonna pretend
That you and your employer
Are still the best of friends

Somebody's gonna take the fall
There's your quid pro quo
Punish the monkey
Punish the monkey, yeah
Punish the monkey
And let the organ grinder go

Here comes a policeman
He won't be sidetracked
He's asking 'bout a smoking gun
He's after the bad

It's a quiet life from here on in
You dropped your poisoned cup
The telephone is ringing
But you're not picking up

Date of the perfect phone call. Rethugs have been saying Ukraine didn't know the money was held up, so no extortion/bribery. This destroys that argument.

Their "defense" is that the money was released before the Ukranians found out it was being held up, so they couldn't have felt any pressure to play along with trump. If they knew on July 25, that puts that lie to rest.

I am shocked to see that Always Trumpers think breaking-in is a permissable action by a president. No wonder hethey would let him run free on 5th Ave.

I really would like to know about the other interviews that did not make it into this selection. What is the percentage that does not agree?

Ok so the perfect call is in June then in July Ukraine confirms the money was held up, so that’s the quo. When and who made the request for the Biden investigation? Didn’t Trump send Guliani and Sondland to make the request off record or whatever the correct term is? How are they gonna confirm the request was made? Or is Mulvaneys and Giulianis statements that they requested it enough?

New York Times OpEd - Noah Bookbinder
Gordon Sondland Leaves Us With No Other Option

The case is simple, and the evidence supporting impeachment is now crystal clear.

History will remember Wednesday as the day a United States ambassador testified under oath before Congress and laid out a clear, simple and damning case that President Trump abused the power of his office and committed bribery, an act for which the Constitution leaves but one outcome.

The evidence was already overwhelming, but now there can be no question about it: Ambassador Gordon Sondland’s testimony was the smoking gun.

This is largely because the facts presented are simple. At the direction of Mr. Trump and Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, United States officials communicated to the government of Ukraine that a White House visit for the new Ukrainian president was contingent on the Ukrainian president publicly announcing investigations into the dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden and a conspiracy theory about the 2016 elections. Later, a congressionally appropriated $391 million military aid package was added to the leverage.

Mr. Sondland, a Trump appointee and million-dollar Trump inauguration donor, testified under oath that there was an explicit quid pro quo at the direction of President Trump, through Mr. Giuliani. The facts are not meaningfully in dispute, because Mr. Sondland’s testimony corroborates the accounts of multiple strong and reliable witnesses. Mr. Sondland made clear that there are even more people and additional documents that could corroborate his testimony, but the White House is blocking their release. The absence of these additional documents and witnesses makes it abundantly clear that the administration is obstructing Congress.

First class for US internal flights, Business class for other international destinations, in a 1/2/1 configuration. International 1st class would be much fancier with private compartments.

Totally agree with you Jeffrey, have been under the weather and watched all of it both days. It's been amazing. Just as you said, if you watch it the spin from Hannity et al is totally, utterly (or udderly in Devin's case) ridiculous. Truly hope people watch... the zone is always so flooded. And that's Donald's strategy.
