During a joint news conference, Mr. Pompeo had some particularly sharp words on Russia’s election meddling, telling his counterpart that “interference in American elections is unacceptable, and if the Russians were engaged in that in 2020 it would put our relationship in an even worse place than it has been.”

Russian sources report Putin let Pompeo wait for 3 hours.
If true, RU diplomacy is seriously stuck in 19 century.

#Russia's state TV host Olga Skabeeva taunts a Ukrainian guest by citing lack of Western support for #Ukraine. Skabeeva claims that in his talks with Sergey Lavrov, Mike Pompeo didn't even mention Nord Stream 2 and failed to bring up Ukraine at all during his meeting with Putin.

The two also raised the possibility of opening negotiations on extending the only remaining nuclear treaty between Moscow and Washington, called New Start, which limits the number of intercontinental missiles, warheads and heavy bombers each can have.
Gonna need to be renamed for DOTUS to sign on.

Exclusive: Pompeo delivers unfiltered view of Trump’s Middle East peace plan in off-the-record meeting

By John Hudson and Loveday Morris
June 2 at 5:40 PM

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered a sobering assessment of the prospects of the Trump administration’s long-awaited Middle East peace plan in a closed-door meeting with Jewish leaders, saying “one might argue” that the plan is “unexecutable” and it might not “gain traction.” He expressed his hope that the deal isn’t simply dismissed out of hand.

“It may be rejected. Could be in the end, folks will say, ‘It’s not particularly original, it doesn’t particularly work for me,’ that is, ‘It’s got two good things and nine bad things, I’m out,’ ” Pompeo said in an audio recording of the private meeting obtained by The Washington Post.

“The big question is can we get enough space that we can have a real conversation about how to build this out,” he said.

The remarks are the most unvarnished comments to date from a U.S. official about President Trump’s “deal of the century,” an effort to resolve the intractable Israeli-Palestinian dispute he has entrusted to his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and former lawyer Jason Greenblatt.

The unveiling of the plan has been repeatedly delayed, a point Pompeo noted.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/01/politics ... index.html
Washington (CNN)Democrats on a key House congressional committee are investigating allegations from a whistleblower within the State Department about Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his family's use of taxpayer-funded Diplomatic Security -- prompting agents to lament they are at times viewed as "UberEats with guns".

Congressional investigators, who asked for the committee not to be named as they carry out their inquiries, tell CNN that a State Department whistleblower has raised multiple issues over a period of months, about special agents being asked to carry out some questionable tasks for the Pompeo family.

In April, for example, an agent was asked to pick up Chinese food—without Pompeo in the car. The whistleblower said this led agents to complain that they are now serving as "UberEats with guns," which has created a buzz within the department, according to multiple Democratic congressional aides who cited the whistleblower.

On another occasion, the whistleblower told aides, a Diplomatic Security special agent was given the job of picking up the Pompeo family dog from a groomer.

If Congress initiates impeachment actions against Pompeo and or Barr, who pays for their lawyers?

In that case, they should probably hire several. Just to be safe.

Not too long after Pompeo's statement I saw on the twitter machine that Volker and the former Ukraine ambassador plan to appear. Not betting the farm, but it would make me smile if they did.

I'm sure Trump will offer to do so. Of course, he'll ask the attorneys to run a tab . . .
