I obviously have led a very sheltered life and would appreciate it if someone would provide clear (and honest) English translations of the mysterious expressions in Kavanaugh's yearbook and similar references, such as boof, Devil's Triangle, Wendy, Maureen Total Whack, etc.

Google is your friend. The top result

This is the title. You should be able to read the article yourself. Note - it is R rated.
Brett Kavanaugh’s questionable definitions of “boof” and “Devil’s Triangle,” explained
Wendy and Maureen refer to two women. I believe there was further discussion of the terms referencing them upthread. In other words, Fogbow is your friend as well.

:snippity: Ford never said when the alleged incident occurred. It’s also not the case that Kavanaugh’s social circle restricted its drinking bouts to weekends in the summer. Judge, Kavanaugh’s friend, wrote in a book about his battle with sobriety that he would often show up to work either hungover or still intoxicated from the night before. :snippity:

I was not a hardcore party person in high school, but I definitely could roll in at 2AM and get up to work the next morning. Show of hands, anyone else able to do that in their younger days?

Early twenties yeah. Sometimes a few nights in a row. Can't even come close to doing that now. I go out on Thursdays and even though I'm at work by nine I'm slow until around noon

Hah. Not everyone thought the SNL opener was funny.

Aww, the faux indignation is palpable. Of course, it's a false equivalence. it does not matter how much money the actor has who portrayed Kavanaugh. And the point was not that he defended himself. it was that he was angry and crying while he tried to defend himself.

So the only woman whose claims the FBI won't investigate is the one who signed a sworn affidavit? That's not how they told me it works in Pootville or in the Birther District Court of Bun-Dogs!

Hasn't Trump tweeted that the investigation is not limited (despite the order he signed)? I guess though that the FBI will work from the paper order rather than from the Shitgibbon's tweets.

Oh, I have full and complete confidence that there will be an adequate investigation and not just take a couple of statements to turn over to the White House so McGahn can write up a statement to indicate that nothing conclusive was found.

:sarcasm:

I'm certain without the sarcasm emoji nobody would have I was being sarcastic.

Thanks Tek. That worked for me.

That was very funny, and also kind of sad. I felt they were pulling their punches a little. I didn't watch the original of course, as I found it too upsetting, so I cant compare it to the original.

I'm normally not into speculation but it's been interesting trying to figure out what prompted Graham to become the devoutest of Trump devotees.

This is from Friday night, but an interesting discussion about the FBI investigation reopened background check.

Frank's become one of my favorite pundits. Of course his comments assumed this would be a normal, standard background investigation. As if.

There is the speculation that Trump might be holding the fact that Graham is Homosexual over him, but honestly I can't see that would be it. Ya, it would hurt Graham but at this stage its not that much of a disgrace, and I read rumours that Graham has been openly at parties with his long term partner. It is probably something else.

I am concerned about people calling this an "investigation". It's isn't. It's a reopened background check, unless I'm mistaken. That's an entirely different thing.

The only thing that is going to have an effect at this point is HUGE and UNRELENTING public outcry. That's it. Nothing short of absolute pandemonium is going to convince the entitled white male Republicans in Congress to step back from brink. They have been marching toward destruction in lockstep and with purpose since the day Trump was nominated.

FBI contacts second woman who has accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct
:snippity:

Lawmakers and Trump administration officials had few expectations that the FBI would settle Ford and Kavanaugh’s dueling accounts. A background investigation is, by its nature, more limited than a criminal probe, and FBI agents will not be able to obtain search warrants or issue subpoenas to compel testimony from potential witnesses. The FBI’s interviews, which will take a few days to conduct, won’t turn into a sprawling inquest of everyone Kavanaugh went to a party with in high school, said a person familiar with the investigation.

The FBI’s findings will not necessarily become public. When investigators have completed their work, anything they’ve discovered will be turned over to the White House as an update to Kavanaugh’s background check file. The White House would then likely share the material with the Senate committee.

At that point, all senators, as well as a very small group of aides, would have access to it.

The White House or the Senate would decide what, if anything, should be released publicly. The bureau’s work will probably consist mostly of reports of interviews with witnesses and accusers. The bureau will not come to a conclusion on whether the accusations are credible and will not make a recommendation on what should become of Kavanaugh’s nomination.

On Saturday, the Judiciary Committee said it referred for criminal investigation apparent false statements made to the panel’s investigators about Kavanaugh. Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) said in a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray that he was seeking a criminal review of the actions of one individual whom he did not identify.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... 4a719614f2

I do not trust that the "White House" would NOT alter or outright change/redact the report before turning it over. I believe Trump will do everything in his power to suppress or bury ANYTHING that does not say exactly what he fucking wants it to say if there is any way possible for him to do that. :madguy:

He attended Roman Catholic schools, and most of his experiences are straight out of the parochial school playbook.
I somehow missed all this when I was in school. but, in my defense, no one gave me a copy of the playbook.

Keep the pressure on the undecideds (or pretend undecideds) based on his very, very unjudicial conduct, prevarications, avoidances, and utter lack of candor.
